Sadly I will have to end my blogging. As you can see its been 9 months since I last blogged and the only reason is time isn't on my side. Work is eating too much of my time and whatever freedom I have after that is spent more on relaxing and bumming around.
Being in the computer line the last thing I need is to look at a PC after work. Oh well its a tough decision but better than leaving my blog to rot.
However as a consolation I have decided to open up a Twitter account. This way I can post crap whenever I feel like it in short bursts. Hehe. So if any of my readers our there still wanna keep in touch do hit me up at my Twitter account listed below.
@pannakortz
Cheers folks! :D

work work work...
Sigh. I should be on leave right now and relaxing after 1.5 years of slogging but sadly am at work. Been roped in to help another account in trouble. There goes my plans of bumming at home playing my PS3 or XBox 360 or having movie binges.
Oh well. On a plus note it might lead to another 'promotion'. Lets keep our fingers crossed on that. ;)
Alrighty. Back to another conference call. Yaaawwwnn...

high definition!
Finally decided to spend some money and get a high definition (HD) set up for the TV room. Been mulling about it for weeks now and just 2 weeks ago decided to get a gift for my dad and myself. ;)
Did some research and ended up with a 50' Panasonic Viera Plasma TV (TH-P50S10K). Wanted smaller but the old man insisted on 50' or bigger. Lucky too as 50' seems perfect for the TV room. After getting the TV I was itching to get a Sony PS3 but sadly I had to wait till 1st of November for it to be released (the slim version) in Malaysia. So it was 1 week of watching Astro and boy Astro doesn't really give you a good reason to get HD TV. It looks awful!
On the launch day I headed over to Sony Style at the Curve and got myself the PS3. Also got myself what must be the game of the year, Unchartered 2. Couldn't wait to get home and test it all out. Even loaned a copy of Transformers on BluRay from a colleague.
When it was all plugged in only one thing came to my mind. What took me so long?! Watching movies will never be the same again. The clarity, sharpness and audio quality simply amazing. Really brings out the potential of the Plasma TV. Now am itchy in collecting more BluRay movies like The Dark Knight, Iron Man and Star Wars collection.
Lets not forget the game. Unchartered 2 is really something else. The graphics are out of this world and the storyline really amazing. Keeps you wanting to play for hours. Which sadly isn't something I have the luxury of. :(
All and all am really satisfied with my investment even though I have burnt a big hole in my wallet. Now am looking towards getting a home theater speaker set. Whats the point of having HD video and no audio right? ;)

game of the season...
Did you guys catch the Manchester derby moments ago? Hope you did as it is to be the game of the season. Full of action, thrills and not to mention goals! That is what the game is all about.
What an amazing last goal by Owen to seal the game for the Red Devils. Imagine a goal right at the start and another right at the end. Classic! :D

Great game by Fletcher, Giggsy and Rooney. Two amazing games in a row for United. Hope this trend keeps up and before you know it, the Premiership is ours. ;)
Glory glory Man United!

work...
Am starting to get pissed. Work is taking too much of my time and I don't seem to be free to do anything anymore. Yes its good to be pre occupied but I feel work is eating up my life. I don't see a fair work vs play scenario. Sigh.
How long is this gonna last? Not for long I hope but everytime I feel a sense a stability some shit happens that flips it around. Arrgghhh. Damn am getting fed up of the Service Desk environment. Need to start thinking of changing roles. I can't leave the field as thats where my knowledge and experience lies but definately need a different challenge and pace.

premier league is back!
Woo Hoo. The English Premier League is back again for a brand new season. This time with lots of excitement especially with the big spending Manchester City. Can't wait to get the ball rolling. No more boring weekends. Something to look forward to week in and week out.
Some small changes for our Red Devils. Ronaldo and Tevez is gone. We now have Valencia and Owen (which was an interesting buy) added to the team. Will be nice to see if Owen rises to the challenge and becomes an asset like Sheringham and Larsson. Think it will be a more open play now with CR7 outta the way. Guess we'll just have to wait and see. ;)
Can't really say much who are the favourites this year. Looks to be a wide open race with all the money spent and calibre of players in multiple clubs. Good luck mates. May the best team win. :D

yummy gadgets...
I sold the Sony PSP for a reason. I was trying to pool as much moolah as I can for my new interest. What now right? LOL. Well this time its about getting something for my room. Most times when am free, I'm stuck in my room without anything to do. Being in an IT line the last thing I wanna do is go online. Then Dad and Mom each occupy both the TVs in the house so thats out of the question.
Hence I decided to get an LCD TV and console for my room. Two days ago I headed over to Best Denki at Tropicana City Mall near my house and got myself a Philips 32' LCD TV for RM1799. This unit came with 3 HDMI and 1 USD inputs. Very useful especially when I found out the USB input supports AVI files. That saves me the time of finding a media player or setting up my console to playback the movie files. ;)

Then I drove straight to Gamer's Solution at City Bazaar, KL to get my Xbox 360 Go Pro Edition for RM1450 which came with 12 games. Reason I settled for Xbox was due to the fact that I could get Jack Sparrow games. I know I know I should support the developers. Sadly I don't have the moolah to be buying games monthly at that cost.
Got back home. Got a shelling from my mom for wasting money. Then proceeded to set it all up in my room. Boy what joy I tell ya. Felt like a kid again. The LCD TV is simply amazing especially when playing Xbox games. Very impressed with the clarity and real life graphics.
Love the fact that the controller is now wireless. No more messy cables and restriction on sitting right in front of the console. Now I can just sit back on my bed and play some games or catch a movie. :D
Even my old man and niece are impressed and they want to hang out in my room now! LOL.

red devils asia tour 2009...
On 14th January 2009, Manchester United FC announced their Asia Tour 2009 whereby they will be stopping over in Kuala Lumpur mid July to play Malaysia XI. Since we lost the chance to see them live last year the moment that was announced I was waiting eagerly for the tickets to be sold.
So when ProEvents started selling them from 1st June, I made sure I got mine within the first week or so. Thankfully so since it was practically sold out by mid month except for the crummy seats. The seats I really wanted was sold out within a couple of days! Arrgghh.
Anyhoo I got my tickets and I made plans with Sunshine to head there early since its free seating.
This was around 2pm. Not many people in yet although a crowd did build up outside. The game was scheduled for 5.30pm. Most people were loitering around the stalls selling Manchester United souveniers, whistles and stuff. However within 2 hours or so it was jam packed with 85,000 football fanatics.
Just before the kickoff. All the players being paraded, shaking hands and the coin toss on which side of the pitch they will play.
Ahh finally the game got underway. Can you imagine waiting 4 hours for it to start in the heat. Especially when we weren't allowed to bring in water. Phew what a relief when the whistle was blown! :D
It was a pretty interesting game. The Malaysian side really stepped up. Sadly due to their immaturity they gave away many good chances. The Red Devils were up by 2 goals from Rooney and Nani before Amri scored a wonderful goal just before the half.
After the goal by Amri majority of the spectators started rooting for the home team. Even though we were all there for the Red Devils but we are after all Malaysians. :D The support paid off well as Amri scored a nice scrap goal when Ben Foster fumbled on a back pass.
Sadly the final score was 2 - 3. A last minute goal by our new boy, Michael Owen. I know the Red Devils didn't really give it their all but the Harimau Muda played with lots of passion and determination. They brought the game to the visitors and showed that with the right coaching they can actually play professionally. Kudos to coach K. Rajagopal!
The boys parading around the pitch. Giving us our moneys worth! Hehe. It was amazing to see all of them up close. Sadly Vidic and Park did not come down for the tour due to injuries.

Its not worth the pressure of fighting the thousands of people trying to get home!

restoran taiping ho chiak...
This is a rather old post, since October last year if I am not mistaken! Time just flew after the new account came in and I kinda slowed down on my blogging. So am gonna give a brief one below instead of wasting the pictures.
Restoran Taiping Ho Chiak is located very near the ex Ruby Theater in Sea Park, PJ. Its down along KFC which should be a well known landmark for that area.
The decor inside is very Baba Byonya'ish in my opinion and gives a rather homely feeling to the place. At the time was around 2pm so it was rather quiet.
It was the start of the day for us so Sunshine and I had the White Coffee (RM3.00) which tasted okay but I would still prefer Old Town's to this.
For starters we had the Taiping Popiah (RM3.60). This was rather yummy. Not too oily and had a very good crunch to it. Not to mention the filling was really good. The only drawback was the chilli sauce that came with it was rather diluted and tasteless.
I had the Nyonya Curry Mee (RM5.90) which came smelling fragrant. The soup is rather thick which is how I like it but some might find it overpowering. It came with nice quantity of ingredients like Tau Foo Pok, lady fingers and bean curd skin. Only thing missing would be the cockles but I think for health reasons was left out. The soup was rich and yummy. :D
Sunshine had her favourite Prawn Mee (RM6.90) but sadly did not come up to her standards. I don't think its easy to sell prawn mee so it doesn't surprise me that they failed to meet the mark. The soup was rather watered down but as a plus point it did come with reasonable amount of ingredients.
All and all this place did show some promise. There were other interesting items on the menu but sadly haven't had the time to return and try it out. Hopefully one of these days will stop over for lunch again. I end the post a picture of their cute toothpick dispenser. Cheers.

ipod dock...
Guess what I got earlier today from Sunshine? Yup its another birthday present. I have been looking high and low for an Apple Ipod dock and now I have one. :D
Sunshine got me the Logitech Pure-Fi Anytime. Its a nicely built sleek unit with added features like digital clock and radio. Just what I needed for my dresser.
The moment I got home I tore the packaging open and have been listening to it since. Its exactly what I wanted. Now I have easy access to my library of tunes. ;)

30 already...
OMG! I'm officially 30 years old. Arrgghh time has flown by. The BIG THREE ZERO! LOL. Then again who cares right? Its just another year gone by.Started off the day with a surprise party of sorts by my colleagues. This year was rather special with 4 cakes. Imagine the smile on my face. Luckily none of them had 30 candles on em'. Hehe.
It was definately a wonderful surprise. On top of that I was presented with some nice prezzies. :D
Look at me checking out all the yummy cakes. Red Devil inspired CuppaCakes plus marble cheesecake, chocolate cheesecake and carrot cake from Secret Recipe. Phew. Best part they were all finished by the time we were done with work. Hehe. ;)
Above is what the Exelon team got me. Yup its Ultimate Bumblebee! Really appreciate the gift guys. *sniff* Look at the big smile on my face. On top of that I got 2 bottles of liquor. A Johnnie Walker Green Label by the EMEA team and Medoff vodka from Ukraine. It was a great start to my 30th birthday I tell ya. Still smiling from it! :D

michael joseph jackson...
He may be known as Wacko Jacko for the last decade of his life but without a single doubt he will always be the most gifted entertainer in the world.Yesterday was a sad day when Michael Joseph Jackson died at the age of 50. A news not many could even believe till it caused a cyberspace traffic jam with record hits on Google, Facebook, Twitter & Yahoo.
It hit the whole world hard with billions mourning his loss. I always joked about his weird lifestyle but when it comes down to it, you can never find anyone as talented as he was. He is and will always be the 'King of Pop'. My only regret is not going for his concert in 1993 and seeing him perform live. :(
Thank you Michael for years of wonderful and inspirational music. May you finally rest in peace.

congrats barca...
We lost. Rightfully so as well. The better team definately won. Barcelona ran riot over the Red Devils. Its sad but am not ashamed to admit it. We didn't deserve to win at all.
Congratulations Barcelona, UEFA Champions for 2009.
To all Red Devil supporters, don't fret as we will be back next year!
Glory glory Man United!
