Ok lets get on with what I enjoyed about the trip. Firstly I have to say that I underestimated the old farts. They were a blast to be with. Cracked pretty interesting jokes and were fun to chat with. Sometimes I felt they were much better travel mates than some of my friends. I guess the diversity of people helped. We had couples ranging from 40s to 70s. Me being the youngest of course. Kinda like the baby of the trip. Pretty good cos I got sayanged alot. LOL. Although I did earn my loving okay. Did the carrying, providing tech advise on digital camera and call roaming and also was the go to guy for photo taking.

Chiang Mai is a very peaceful and beautiful city. Being on the highlands its also cooler than most places. Sadly the weather didn't help much so we missed out on taking scenic pictures. The people are very friendly in the sense they don't hassle you and try their best to oblige. Our hotel was situated right along the Night Bazaar. This is a hit with the tourist due to the vast amounts of goods and how cheap they are. Imagine Petaling Street but with polite traders. ;) We didn't fancy it much but was nice to walk around and people watch. Best part of the trip was chilling at the Beer Garden of our hotel (which overlooks the bazaar) munching on steamed peanuts. Of course with a nice cold brew in hand. =)

Highlight destinations of the trip would be Doi Suthep temple, Maesa Elephant Camp, Long Neck Karen Hilltribe Village (at Chiang Rai), Simon's Dream Cabaret (ladyboy show) and the Mekong River cruise (Golden Triangle). At the elephant camp we enjoyed a show, had a 30 minute ride through the jungle and ended with a slow bamboo raft ride on the river running along the camp. The cabaret was really entertaining, much better than the shows at Gentings. Very creative and entertaining throughout its 90 minutes. The hilltribe village was actually just a small village meant for tourist to see how various types of hilltribe people live. The main draw being the Karen Long Neck women who uses neck braces which gets higher as they get older. You wouldn't believe it but these braces are really heavy. Wonder how these women pull it off.

The Golden Triangle is actually the intersection where Laos, Vietnam and Thailand meet along the Mekong river. It used to be one of Asia's main opium producing areas. We actually stopped over a small island under Laos during this cruise where I had some snake whiskey. Taste very much like tequila. The island is just meant for tourist to stop over and buy some dirt cheap goods like shirts, animal whiskey and souveniers. No immigration checks but you have to pay a fee to the Laos army. Also had some tasty fresh coconut juice.

All and all it was the worst trip I have been on. Food and tour sucked. Have a feeling the Thai tour agency pulled a fast one on the Malaysian tour agency that we used. Wasn't really what we payed for. On top of that our tour guide, although sweet, spoke poor English. The group never had problems like this on their other trips. Sigh. Had to happen when I joined la. Typical ass luck! Alrighty that is all on the Chiang Mai trip. Pictures to follow shortly.

I know I know. Its a lil' too late to blog about this. Sorry been caught up with a few things and never found the time to sit and type this out. Anyways here goes, a post on my trip to Chiang Mai, Thailand. Gonna be a short one cos I can't remember much of the stuff I wanted to rant about. Hehe.

This short trip of 4 nights was actually a freebie from my dad. He won some moolah via a group lottery and decided to give me a treat. How can I say no to that right. ;) The trip was a self organised tour by my dad's Gasing Hill trekking kakis. They have been travelling all around Asia especially with the help of Air Asia. The idea is to buy their own flight tickets but organise ground arrangements via a tour agent. They had a blast in China (Beijing, Guilin and Cheng De) and Hanoi, Vietnam so I thought why not, even if it were with old farts.

The trip started off good with a wonderful lunch buffet nearby the airport. Had 2 helpings of sumptious pork curry noodles and lotsa small helpings of various dishes. Not really authentic Thai but close to it. It should be a sign of good things to come right? WRONG! After that everything went downhill. First we were dumped at the wrong hotel. We were promised 3 stars but we put into a 2 star motel. Next morning there was a riot and we got moved to the agreed hotel, Hotel Surawongse.

Food throughout the whole trip was crap. We never had any real Thai food. Had tom yam twice and both tasted like chilli water. Our roadside stalls make much better tom yams. The regular fare was chinese food. I mean it would be ok if the food was tasty but these were really crappy chinese dishes. Yes the seafood and veggies were fresh, but their cooking skills left much to be desired. On top of that the portions were small and it was the same crap over and over, even if the restaurants were different. Not really a good thing especially after a long day of roaming around.

Then we were taken to so many stupid factory outlets. First it was wood, then silver, then jade, then dried foods, then leather, then silk. OMG. Enuff already. I know la these are what they survive on but c'mon. After the first 2 factories most of us got rather fedup. Getting on and off the damn bus. Arrggh. And most of the items weren't really cheap. We get similar staff back home at a lower price.

Weather in Chiang Mai wasn't that favourable either. Out of the 5 days, 4 were wet. At times so wet roads were flooded and the mountains all fogged up. Plus not to mention the traffic congestion. Sigh. It was the wrong time of the year to head there. Should have gone about 1 month before. At least then we could have enjoyed wonderful sceneries.

Alrighty, think enuff of bitching about the trip. Will continue later on what I enjoyed as well as some pics. Better get back to work. Cheerio. =)

screw kanna curry house...

I know almost everyone loves Kanna Curry House that is located at Section 17, PJ. Yes I know their banana leaf is popular (although its nothing special in my opinion) and that they are packed everyday during lunch hour. What pisses me off though, is that why can't I have something other than the freaking banana leaf rice for lunch?! You advertise that you have other items, but why can't we, THE CUSTOMERS order those items! Not everyone wants rice for lunch ya know.

I went into Kanna's earlier today to have a light lunch. This was about 2 in the afternoon. Sunshine and I wanted some Roti Telurs with various curries. As usual all the drones came by with the banana leaf, rice, side dishes and what not. I asked if they had anything besides rice and they answered Rotis. Told them we don't want rice but would like to have some Rotis. They immediately mentioned that its going to take some time to make the Rotis while shoving the banana leaf and side dishes in our face. Said to them no problem, we can wait. You know what happened after that? There were 4 guys entertaining us and they all just walked away. I mean what the phuck?! No rice so no service?! We just got up and left.

Never again am I gonna step into Kannas. This is the 2nd time this has happened to me. First time was with the boys one Saturday after futsal at around 3pm. At that time the boys had a good time arguing with them and they succumbed and we had our rotis and fried noodles. Its sad how these businesses become cocky after getting popular. Sri Paandis at Section 11 were the same till they got into some controversies and loss customers. Hope Kannas get into some hot soup to teach them a lesson. Arrgghhh.

damn u fifa and afc!

This is unfair. Sigh. How can this happen?! Arrgghh. When I am financially capable as well. What the fuck is wrong with AFC and FIFA. I mean who gives a shit about the AFC Asian Cup 2007. On top of that there isn't really a game that coincides with the day MU plays a Malaysian Selection team. Why can't we come to a compromise?! Why?! Sigh. =(

congratulations...

Congrats to A.C. Milan for winning 2006-2007's Champions League trophy. This would be their 7th win to date. Very impressive record and I must say a very impressive team indeed. Would love to have some of their players under Manchester United. At the end of the day the better team won. Furthermore what can we really expect from Liverpool?! Hehe. Ok ok an unfair swipe. Sorry I hate u lot of asses so its tough for me to give you any credit. The Reds played an impressive game but sadly just couldn't finish. If only you had a solid striker up front, then you could have taken the game to the Rossoneris. Anyways I'm happy A.C. Milan won and not the Liverpoops.

Congratulations mates. Good show this year. See you next year and you better be prepared! ;)

random ramblings...

I don't have a main topic to post so I'll just wing it with some random shieet.

• One Cherry shrimp died. Saw it lying still to the side and wriggling its legs. Barely 30 mins later and it was gone. =(
  
• Champions League final in about 3 hours time. Liverpool vs AC Milan. Lots of ppl are supporting Liverpool for the sake of the English game. I hate Liverpool too much to support them for anything. Even if it meant to save the damn Queen. LOL. Can't wait to see the Rossoneris whoop some Reds ass.
  
• Had some good nasi lemak kukus for lunch at Restoran Subang Ria today. On the side some lovely chicken rendang and chilli fried paru (cow lung). Oh not forgetting 3 cups of lovely Nescafe ice to go with it. Somehow this is the only joint I can visit over and over again and not get fedup. Could be the company as well. =)
  
• Listened to Nelly's Country Grammar in the car earlier. Been a long time since I popped that CD in. Brought back some memories of life in US, especially since I studied in Missouri. Hehe.
  
• Thinking of doing something for my car. Sadly don't know what and to top it off don't wanna spend the money to do it! Such a dilemma I tell ya. LOL. Maybe a bodykit? New rims? Wish I had the moolah to repaint it. Fedup of seeing so many Ozzy Orange Myvis around. Would be nice if I could repaint it some shade of blue.
  
• Haven't been drinking in awhile now. Feels kinda good. Plus helps me save lotsa money. Been eating a lot though which is scaring me especially when I've put on 2 kgs since Chiang Mai trip. Damn rice for lunch and dinner throughout that holiday. Arrggghhh.

we slipped...

Sigh. We let the cup go. One lil' slip up and its gone. An unfair result but thats how the game goes. I can't say we lost to a better team as both played mundane football and were on par. I have to admit though that we lost to a better striker. Drogba is one of the best out there now and he proved it last night. A beautiful goal by Chelsea. Would have loved it to go to penalties and have 2 of the best goalies in the Premiership to duke it out but I guess the Red Devils shouldn't have slipped towards the end. Sigh.

Anyways it was a good season for Manchester United. Happy the way things have gone this year. Much better than the few before. A sign of good things to come. Can't wait for next season to start. Now just gotta check out the transfer war between clubs. Lotsa money and big names being thrown about. Can't really say much until the transfers are final. Rumours are rife. Hope we get a couple of good players in and get rid of some excess baggage.

new rubbers...

Just got some new rubbers for my baby. Shes going to be 30 thousand kms soon and the tyres are close to running bald. Decided to change it now and grab some trade in value on my current rubbers (Bridgestone Potenza GIII). Woke up early Friday morning and headed down to Klang. Everyone knows its the best place in Klang Valley to get good deals on tyres and rims. I had my mind set on a particular tyre, Michelin Pilot Preceda 2 (PP2).

After roaming around Klang town I manage to find the shop that was recommended by various forums. Before changing was checking out the rims on display but sadly it was too costly to change so decided to just get the tyres. Negotiated with the tauke (owner) and got down to business. After about 30 odd minutes I was good to go.

Been a day now of having the new rubbers and they feel great. My previous ones were rather noisy as it sacrificed comfort for performance plus they were getting hard. The new ones however are a mix of both and boy are they nice. Soft ride with exceptional performance. Haven't tested em' on wet roads yet but from the looks of things I won't be dissappointed. Am very satisfied with my choice. Worth the extra moolah plonked (at least RM50 per tyre).

Now my baby's got nice new threads. My mind is still considering the yummy rims I spotted but think I'll put that plan on hold for now. Way too much money needed plus will be making a loss when discarding my current ones. Oh well, can't have everything right! ;)

Finally after 2 freaking months we played Futsal again. A sorely needed exercise I must add. We managed to play 2 full hours. It was a great game which ended with 80 plus goals. LOL. It was really fun. Hope we can keep this up. Need some form of regular exercise. Problem we always face is getting enuff players. Sigh.

Tomorrow will be the last game played to mark the end of the English football season. Will you be watching it? If yes where will you be? The FA Cup final is gonna be played in the new Wembley stadium. Should be a great game and an amazing atmosphere. If only we could go down and enjoy it LIVE. Unfortunately I'll be parking my ass down at Souled Out donning my Giggsy jersey cheering the Red Devils on. Should be an interesting match as Chelsea needs to win something to save their season while MU is gunning for a double.

Just got done with cleaning my tank and changing the water. Went ahead and bought another Java fern plus 5 more Cherry Shrimps. Slowly starting to fill up my tank. Decided to alter my layout since I needed room for the new fern. Now the bottom is filled with plants and the pirate ship. Should be nice and cosy for the shrimps. Need to give em' places to hide and moult.

Tank looks clean and healthy. Good sign. Its roughly 1.5 months now. Planned to add fishies today but the shop isn't opened till next week. So I gotta wait since am looking for a variety not commonly sold. Enjoy the pictures below of the new layout. Think you'll be able to spot some of the fishies and shrimps as well.

Wow. Just found out I missed an earthquake by 1 day! Phew. Northern Laos was hit by a 6.3 magnitude earthquake yesterday at around 5.30pm. That is roughly the time I was at the Golden Triangle the day before during my Chiang Mai trip. Talk about cutting it close.

going for a break...

In a couple of days I'll be off for a short break. This time around am heading to Chiang Mai, Thailand. Been checking some web sites and looks like its pouring cats and dogs. Hope that isn't true. Sigh. Would be a waste to be on vacation and have it be a washout. This particular trip will be on my old man since he won some 4D money. Hehe. How can I say no to a free trip right?! Especially when its been like 9 months since I last went overseas.

Haven't really packed yet. Guess will be doing it just before the flight. LOL. Nothing like last minute packing. Anyways even if I did forget anything I could just buy it at Thailand cheap. Can't wait to have all the yummy Thai food. Plus heard the views are to die for. Am sure to snap lotsa pics and post em' up here.

premiership is ours...

After 4 years its finally ours again! We manage to come up tops and proven who is the best English club in the Premiership. A record 9 times I must add. Even with injuries mounting we manage to do it. Now we gotta focus on the FA Cup final so we can land the double. From the way things are going I am pretty sure its a shoe in but I better not count my chickens before they hatch. You never know what might happen before and during the game.

Anyways am proud of the lads and the effort they have put in this season. The whole squad from the first team to the reserves have really stepped up and contributed. Great to see how the Devils have been playing this season. Really beautiful football. Sadly we weren't able to take the European Cup but there is always next season right.

tank updates...

Phew. Just got done with the fortnightly water change for my fish tank. Its already going to be one month and everything is going along great. The plants are growing nicely and the fishies are swimming about happily. Even my Cherry Shrimps are growing up and wandering about. Am very eager to add more fishes and shrimps but since I'll be on holiday next week, better to come back and add em'. Then I'll be able to monitor the tank. Don't want to add em' all now and come back to a graveyard. Hehe.

Sometimes I wish for a bigger tank. So I can add more plants, fishes and what not. Sadly I'm also aware that I won't be able to handle it. Will end up being too lazy to maintain it. I just gotta stick with this nano tank. Only takes about 30 minutes or so to do maintanance. Not that demanding and just as satisfying. =)

Alrighty best to go get cleaned up. Tea time. Cheers.

Looks like the title will soon be ours. If Chelsea loses or share points tommorrow, the Devils will walk away with the Premiership. If not we gotta battle it out next week. Won't say much for now but hope Arsenal will give Chelsea a nice whooping. Let Mourinho weep silently. Hehe.

Good game earlier today. Guess the boys are tired so they weren't pushing it. Plus gotta save up some energy for the FA Cup Final at Wembley. Great call by the ref for the penalty which Ronaldo cooly slid in. On top of that great save by Van De Sar (penalty by Vassel) towards the end of the match. Keep it up lads.

Sigh. We gave the damn game away. What an awful performance from practically the whole team. Arrgghh. Kudos to Van Der Sar and Scholsey who played their hearts out but it just wasn't enough. Better luck next time I guess. Man United's play was poor right from the start. Everything was wrong. Defense was a joke and attack was dull. Why?! Why?! Sigh. There goes the treble. =(

Guess it wasn't meant to be. At least we can now concentrate on the Premiership (which is practically ours!) and the FA Cup. AC Milan deserved the win and am sure they are going to lift the Champions League trophy this year. Liverpool doesn't stand a chance.

bad day for the tigers...

Hmmm. Bad news. First the Tamil Tigers (Sri Lanka) lost the Cricket World Cup to Australia yesterday and now my last Tiger Shrimp just died. Not sure why but found him lying sideways near the Java fern. Sigh. Can't seem to find my other shrimps as well. Hope it wasn't due to me adding some new water into the tank yesterday afternoon. Think I won't be investing in Tiger Shrimps anymore. They seem to be so sensitive. Cherry Shrimps are much more hardy. Pray my 3 other shrimps are alive and kicking somewhere.

On a positive front my fishies have survived 2 full weeks now and the tank is 3 weeks old. All seems well. Hope this keeps up and I can add more after a couple weeks or so. Can't wait to have more fishies in the tank. Kinda bare right now.

It seems the Devils are just unstoppable! Game started out bad with us trailing behind 2 nil after 50 odd minutes. Not too long after MU kicked into gear and walloped 4 goals before time. One of em' courtesy of our ex Man United youth, Phil Neville. Great comeback I must say. Got me a lil worried there. Didn't want to lose our lead to Chelsea for the league title. Bolton did us a favor as well by holding Chelsea for a draw. Now we are 5 points up and can afford to rest players during our last 3 league games. If we manage to just draw all the games the Premiership is ours. Am sure the lads can already smell it!

Now am looking forward to the 2nd leg match at San Siro with AC Milan on Thursday. Hope we will have one of our regular defenders fit by then. If not there isn't much to worry anyways. The Red Devils have managed to hold their ground even with a weakened line up. The fringe players have really shined this season.

What a great game! Manchester United with another amazing show. All looked bad towards the end of 1st half but the Devils took control in the 2nd half and came back top. Milan didn't have a chance. Should have been more goals but we will take the 1 goal lead. See you guys in San Siro. Sadly we'll be without Evra but Smith can come on and give more grunt in the attack.

Kudos to Fletcher, Giggsy, Rooney and Heinze for a terrific performance. Keep it up lads and we'll make the treble this year. Yee Ha!

A great game to be played later tonight or more like early tommorow mornin'. Manchester United vs AC Milan at Old Trafford for the 1st leg of Champions League Cup semi final match. A depleted Red Devils against a full strength Rossoneris. Many are already saying MU is out due to the lack of first string players especially in defense but I have faith that our fringe players will shine tonight. Wes Brown and Heinze will hold the fort while O' Shea and Fletcher will close down the flanks. On top of that we have our attack which is sizzling hot! Am relying on Ronaldo and Rooney to stir the team on. Its gonna be a team effort and there isn't any team out there now that plays as well together as the Red Devils.

Arrgghh. Looks like I owe the government RM800 odd. How can this be?! Looks like 19% plus of my salary is going towards taxes. Sigh. Such depressing news. Why??!! =(

After months and months of procrastinating, I finally got myself some new kicks. Been eyeing a particular shoe but sadly its sold out. Sigh. Oh well, serves me right for delaying the purchase. Anyhoo managed to find another shoe that tickled my fancy.

2 more fishies...

Just added 2 more Cherry Barbs into my tank. Now I have 5 of em' swimming about. The latest additions are rather young, almost half the size of the current ones. So far they ain't getting bullied and have gotten along just nicely. They are already swimming together. =)

1 officially gone...

Ahh after researching online, bitching to $1 and observing my tank, looks likes the skeletal remains wasn't signs of a dead shrimp. They were just molting. Found more skeletal remains after that and the shrimps still running about happily. Phew. Molting supposedly is a good sign as the shrimps are healthy enuff to grow bigger.

Sadly though, woke up this morning to a cooked shrimp. A definate sign of a dead shrimp. Sigh. So now am left with 3 Cherry shrimps and 1 Tiger shrimps. =(

On a positive note, the fishies seem to be alive and happy. Got 1 who is pretty shy and hides all the time while the other 2 are hyperactive. Chasing one another and zooming about in the tank. Won't be adding any more fishies or shrimps for another couple of weeks at least. Want the tank to mature and ensure this lot survives.

Ok dokie. Back to work...

Sigh. Just found skeletal remains of one of my shrimps. Checked around the tank and found the 4 others alive. All seem to be hiding. Think my fishies are bullying them at night when they stay low on the ground. Poor shrimps. Guess won't be getting any new ones cos after doing more research realise its not wise to mix fishes and shrimps. Even the most friendly fish will nip at the shrimps and stress them out. Which in turn kills em'. Sigh.

Oh well. At least I got to enjoy them for a bit. Although sad they have to die this way. =(

Hmmm looks like my shrimps have gone missing. Woke up this morning and found 2 Cherry shrimps and 1 Tiger shrimp MIA. I hope my fishies didn't have em' for breakfast. Pray their just hiding in the pirate ship. Sad if they were gone so fast. =(

Another round of walloping. Four goals past Watford earlier today guaranteeing a finals showdown at Wembley with either Chelsea or Blackburn (who will be playing tommorrow). Watford played a good game but unfortunately the Devils kept hitting the target. Even Kieran Richardson manage to sneak in a nice goal towards the end.

Keep this up lads and we'll win the treble!! =)

Sadly the injury list just gets longer. Now Rio has a groin injury and O' Shea is out as well. Sigh. Hope Neville gets back as scheduled or we will be having one hellave tough end to the season.

FA cup semis...

Ahh its yet another important game for the Red Devils. Tonight is the FA Cup semi final game between Watford and Manchester United. Rumours are that the Devils are gonna field a weaker team but I really hope we put some effort in and get this game in the bag. Hoping this year we will be able to repeat the treble of 1999. Will definately be watching the game on telly.

After a few days of having the tank set up, I decided to alter the layout as it was rather plain. With the help of my primary skool mate (and colleague) $1, I got some extra gravel and lava rocks. So I made up a few more Java moss patches and sloped the gravel a bit better. Am satisfied with the outcome. What do you think?

Then this afternoon spent the time roaming around Klang Valley checking out some fish shops. Finally after a handful of hours ended up with a new net, fish food, PH tester and new inhabitants for my tank. Couldn't take the 3 to 4 week time period to cycle the tank, so decided to get some tank mates to speed the process up. Got myself some hardy fishies and shrimps. Now my tank has 3 Cherry Barbs, 2 Tiger Shrimps and 3 Cherry Shrimps. Not sure if you can spot em' in the photos below.

At least now the tank looks and feels like a fish tank. Lol. Previously was rather plain with the lonely plants. Happy to see my fishies and shrimps roaming about getting used to their new home. Hope they survive the tank cycling process. Should be ok since they are the hardier variety. Am planning to get more fishies once the cycle is done. =)

Woo Hoo. What a cracker of a game! Seven wonderful goals from Manchester United and 5 of em' within 50 minutes. Real impressive effort especially with almost 50% fringe players. Carrick and Fletcher really surprised me this time around. Hope they will keep this tempo up. Lots of important games coming up. Watford this weekend and Chelsea in May. Not forgetting Champions League semis and FA Cup final.

Am happy I stayed up to watch this game. Been a long while since I've seen such an entertaining match. Damn. MU is back bitches!! =)

Ahh finally got it set up. Spent the better half of the day washing the gravel, cleaning the tank, setting the light and filter and filling it up with water. Phew. Very happy with the outcome. Sadly can't put any fishies in yet. Gotta cycle the tank for handful of weeks first.

Sad day for the Red Devils. Why Scholsey? Why did you make that tackle? Sigh. You've been performing all season, the best after Ronaldo. Why choose this game? Arrgghh. Thank god for Rooney's goal. At least we have 1 away goal and have a chance to rough it out at Old Trafford. Hope the defence will buck up by then. Lotsa silly mistakes. Sad to lose Vidic at such a crucial stage of the season.

Am still confident though we'll reach the Semis. Just sad that we lost to Roma. A draw would have been great. Arrgghhh.

Yippie! In about 3 hours I'll be officially off work and going for a 5 day holiday. Can't wait I tell you. Been itching to have a long break. Away from work and the city. Highlight of it all is being in Pulau Pangkor for 3 glorious days. Ahh I can already smell the ocean breeze. Gonna be putting up in a nice room at Pangkor Island Beach Resort, which by the way has their own private beach. Hopefully it won't be far off town. Planning to rent a scooter to zoom around. Gonna be my first time riding a motorbike. Hehe. Another thing to look forward to. Yay!

Sigh. Time can really move slow when ya eager to get somewhere...

new hobby...

Finally after mulling about it for a week I have decided to venture on a new hobby. Was looking for something to pass my time and was always fascinated with aquariums. Always wanted one of my own but usually either too lazy or or just lost track of the idea. Somehow now is a better time than any for me to venture into this especially with the plethora of tank sizes, fishes and gears out there.

Have to admit that am not gonna be hardcore. Am aiming for a simple tank setup. Yes I know you can have wonderful tanks with beautiful plants and colorful fishes. Sadly knowing the type of person I am (ie. LAZY), I rather do something I know I can manage. Already got myself a nano tank with a light and filter. Gonna get some gravel and the necessary chemicals for the water later.

Plan is to have some java fern and java moss and a pirate ship. The pirate ship is more for my niece. Something to excite her, plus I have to admit I kinda like it too. Blame it on the Toys R US kid in me. Hehe. Then once the tank has cycled, am gonna get a school of Lambchop Rasboras with a school of Boraras Maculatus and some Red Cherry Shrimp (love to see these lil buggers roaming about). Now the choice of fishes might change as I go along but these seem to be the best bet since I need some hardy fishes.

damn auto invites...

What is an auto invite you might ask? No its not the stupid function on IRC (for you nerds out there). Its a term a group of us created for losers people who self invite themselves to functions. Be it a game of futsal, a night out to the pub or even a yam cha session after work. Some even to private parties. Yes there are such people and yes they must be extremely thick to do so.

There are 3 ways that I have noticed to get yourself auto invited. The bravest is of course by just showing up. Put on ya thickest hide and just show up like one of the gang. Someone has to be really brazen or arrogant to do this. A slightly less obvious way is to find out where the event is and stumble upon the group. After all, it isn't your fault if you happen to be there right?! Lastly is by pressuring for an invite. This only works if the person you are targeting is too nice/soft or wants to please everyone. This way you get invited so to speak out of courtesy or just not to upset you. Other than that the invites come with a mixture of the 3.

Its really sad how low a person is to be an auto invite. I mean how thick, arrogant or dumb are you to attend something not meant for you. What is the point anyways? If you are not wanted, why be there! Not itself its uncomfortable for you but why spoil other peoples fun? Guess that is the whole point, if I can't have fun, you shouldn't as well. :P

It wasn't much of a showing but we're in the last eight of the Champions League. Things are looking good but the team seems to be in trouble. We are facing one too many injuries and the last 3 games have been way below par. Sigh. Hope they buck up but with the shortage of players, its gonna be really hard. Think we shouldn't have any problem with the Premiership but not sure about FA Cup and Champions League. Sigh even Larsson is confirmed leaving.

Anyways better look at the bright side. Never know, John O' Shea or Carrick might shine. Hehe.

Woo Hoo. We managed to scrape a win. Sadly I have to admit that it should have been a draw. Liverpool were playing much better during the 2nd half but I guess thats how the game goes. Can't believe of all people O' Shea is the one to score at Anfield and end their 30 game unbeaten streak. LOL. Must have been a real blow for the Reds. Hope they are able to regain their confidence before their big game against Barcelona this week. Then again hope they lose and get kicked out of the Champions League. Hehe.

dry weekend...

You wouldn't believe it, but this weekend was a dry one for me. Not a single drop of alcohol. Best part is it felt good. Real good. I guess alot has to do with the company. Hehe. But seriously it was nice not to drink. Sigh. Sadly this weekend looks like a wet one. Hopefully won't go overboard like usual. Need more dry events. Miss the days whereby we just hang out in mamak stalls or cafes. Sipping tea or fruit juices or just pigging out on good food.

I know this post and a few others below make me sound like an alcoholic, but trust me I'm not. And NO I'm not in DENIAL! Just that when I socially drink it can get a lil' too much. Am sure those that drink know what I mean. Plus sometimes its nice to drink to numb the mind. If ya get what I mean. ;)

Sigh. I have started to drink again. Need to find a way to stop. I can't help it cos it helps me relax and forget things. Although sadly only for a short moment. Hate the after effects the next morning especially with a screwed up stomach like mine. Arrrggghhh.

Any therapies out there to divert my need to drink?? I don't smoke and will never so please don't say that helps! Unless I start eating. Sigh. Then I'll gain back the few kilos I tried so hard to loose. Damn there doesn't seem to be a win win situation! =(

Am sure most of you have already seen the first episode of Heroes on Star World. Some of you (like me) might be as up-to-date with US (episode 14). When I first saw the series, it immediately reminded me of when X-Files came out back in 1993. The same excitement and curiousity to keep following and counting the days for the next episode to come out. Although I gotta admit this is much better as the series follows along with each episode. Plus with the advancement of technology it comes out more realistic and dramatic.

It got me thinking. What powers would you choose if you were given the choice? Mind reading, invisibility, physical strength, flight and god knows how many others out there. Yes yes I know its all fantasy but indulge me for a minute will ya. After giving it some thought, I would most probably choose teleportation. Now only one person really knows why ;) but for the rest of you, just imagine having the capability to be wherever and whenever you want with a blink of an eye. Now wouldn't that be something cool. Although rather illegal cos you can get into anywhere without paying for it. Hehe. All the free movies and concerts or even robbing banks. LOL. But then again most powers aren't really socially friendly. Theres always something you can do with it thats illegal. So screw that.

Anyhoo. Didn't know what to post so just thought of this. Will give up now and get back to work. Cheerio...

an outlet to vent...

Have you ever felt the need to have someone around to pour everything out? I mean I know we have our parents, friends, gfs/bfs and spouses. What I mean is someone really close yet not attached, who is neutral, won't judge and will just listen (and advise if needed). This of course, in my opinion at least, is a luxury to most. Think a lot of people wish they had such a person, yet its not something easy to come by, considering you would need to let your guard down. And I am not talking about a best friend. Everyone has best friends (some a lil too many, hehe). I feel this is much deeper than that.

Anyways I was lucky to have a few close friends of this nature. Sadly our lives moved on and most of them are now overseas or busy. I am at a point in my life I do not have anyone of this sort close by. Close enuff I can just take a drive and have a drink with them. Worse still is I am at a point I really need em'. Sigh. Plus being a stupid Cancerian doesn't help with all the thinking and wondering. I have to be thankful though that I have someone in my life now and I have stopped the habit of brooding because of her. And I know it hurts her (and me) that I can't vent to her. Sigh.

2007 resolutions...

Ok think its time to come up with some resolutions for this year. Some goals to aspire to. Was happy to have accomplished about 67% of it last year so hopefully will be able to do the same this time around. Lets see...

1. Buy a house (really need to get one this year!)
2. Go for a beach holiday (preferably a long one)
3. Lose more weight (still wanna reach my goal of 76kgs)
4. Get a better job (work is getting too routine plus i need more money!)

Wow time surely flies. Its already 2007. Before you know it I'll be 28 years old. Hope all of you had a blast ushering in the new year. Wish all of you a good year ahead and hope all ya resolutions come true or close to it at least. I haven't thought of any yet, been procrastinating. Hehe.

rm25 fried sotong?!

Arrgghh. Just got back from one of the most expensive yet worse mamak dinner ever. We were at Pelita, Bangsar. As usual had the nasi kandar with my all time favourite fried squid. I know it was suicide just ordering it cos the highest I've seen listed is RM14 just for the squid. I was ready to pay that amount cos I had to satisfy my cravings. But can you guess how much freaking Pelita charged me? And I'm talking about say a 6 inch piece of squid here. Fucking RM25 just for the squid. OMG. I asked the waiter and he says its normal. Told him why not list the damn price so people don't get a heart attack and he had the cheek to tell me that I should have asked. RM25 for a 6 inch piece of friend squid. Freaking a! Dammit. After bitching for a bit he went to speak to his boss and came back. Gave me a RM5 discount. LOL. RM20 is still fucking too much. The damn squid didn't even taste good. Arrgghh. I'm never heading back to Pelita again. Damn highway robbery!

2006 resolutions...

Wow time surely flies. In another 12 days we'll be ushering in 2007. This morning I started thinking back of the resolutions I made for this year and if I manage to accomplish any of em'. To tell you the truth I didn't remember much of it but lets have a look shall we.

1. Lose weight
Surprisingly managed to lose 2.5kgs, very impressive (at least to me) although handful of ppl are telling me to stop losing. :P

2. Look for a new job
Not forthcoming this year, even my job scope hasn't changed. Sigh. I did have offers but nothing safe enuff for me to actually accept.

3. Find a girlfriend
Ahh managed to find someone finally. Sadly its not going to be easy. Gonna be rocky for quite awhile but hope all works out. Wish me luck folks!

4. Travel overseas
Manage to head to North India for 16 days, had a great experience. Won't go back though. Hehe.

5. Buy a house
Not forthcoming as well. Still haven't mustered up enuff downpayment. =(

6. Slow down on my drinking
Even though most don't believe it but yes i have cut down on my liquor. Hmmm maybe thats how I lost some weight. =)

All and all not that bad huh. 4 outta 6. 67% success rate. Guess I can work on the other 2 in 2007 with a whole load of other resolutions. Haven't really thought about it but I'll come up with something soon.

merry christmas...

Ahh its that time of the year again. I don't really celebrate it but somehow it is one of the most colorful holidays around. Could be due to the abundance of songs on it as well as all the colorful decorations. Guess being in US for 4 years also influenced me a tad bit. The celebrations there are much more elaborate and festive though especially being their major holiday as well as the bundles and bundles of snow. Sigh. Really do miss snow. Come December the environment just changes. Everyone is perkier and go about with more gusto. You don't really get that in Malaysia. I noticed its more of a shopping holiday than anything else. Can't help it with all the year end sales.

This year I'll be pigging out during Christmas. Gonna starve till then though. Been abstaining from alot of stuff. After losing some weight, last thing I wanna do before 2007 is gain it all back. LOL. Although am not sure I can withold myself with all the yummy treats on offer. Anyways its not often you get to pig out so might as well dig in right. Hehe.

Well just wanted to wish you folks a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!! =)

40% pay hike?!

OMG. Can you freaking believe it?! CUEPACS is requesting a pay hike of around 40% for civil workers. To top it off they actually feel that they DESERVE it! LOL. Supposedly all justified with their improvements in service. Can anyone please tell me which part has been improved? Are they like more prompt in going for their breaks? Or is it the great 'smile' they provide when serving customers? KPIs my ass! Do they even know what it stands for. Arrrgggh. Dammit I am the one who deserves a freaking pay hike. Give me 15% and I'll be happy. No make that 10%. I'll be smiling throughout my work day I tell ya. At least I meet my KPIs. Actually, come to think of it, at least I have freaking KPIs! =P

Woo Hoo! Man United has made it into the knockout stages of Champions League (by beating Benfica 3-1). Phew. Was pretty scary as they needed a draw just to qualify but they screwed 2 easy games (against Celtic and FC Copenhagen) which they should have secured. Plus if history repeats itself, Benfica was the team that kicked us out before. Anyhoo the Red Devils are in and thats all that matters! =)

A GREAT BIG CONGRATULATIONS to Nicol David for her great achievement. With all the stress as well as multiple tournaments she has gone through this year, she managed to retain her World Championship title. This only cements her world #1 ranking in the Women's International Squash Players Association. Nicol is truly the best sports person in Malaysia in a looooooooong time if not ever. By her own accord she worked herself up to be the best female squash player in the world. Not to mention one of the youngest. Am very proud of her and so is most Malaysians I am sure. Someone we can truly look up to.

watch exhibition...

Just got back from a really good watch exhibition entitled "The Conquest of Time". It was organised by Sincere Watch Limited and only cost RM10 which was cheap considering all the masterpieces on display as well the free books given by each watchmaker. There were a total of 25 brands on display like Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe, Jaegar-leCoultre and IWC. Think the cheapest there would be Tag Heuer.

I got to give props to Audemars Piguet as they had the best booth. They opened up all the mechanisms and gave the public a closer view of their creations. I would pay the entrance fee just for that booth really. Plus the President of the company was down as well. I only just found out that it is the first time Audemars Piguet is presenting the biggest collection of 2006 Millenary watches, including the much talked-about MC-12. Hit on the hyperlink to check out the watches they had on display. Really good stuff. No wonder the big guy was done. Hehe.

My favourite watch was also on display (pictured below) and guess how much it cost? About RM1 million odd. Hehe. I wonder when I would be able to easily plonk that much for a watch. Guess there is no harm in dreaming right. ;)

I would advise all those that are interested in watches to check this show out. I guarentee you wouldn't be dissappointed. Sigh. If only I could have walked away with one or 2 of them. LOL.

stupid airport...

What a freaking long day yesterday. My uncle who came down from UK was returning home while my dad was coming back from China. One was leaving at 11.45pm while the other returning at 1.30am. As expected I had to hang about in the airport throughout cos it would cost more to make 2 rounds. Got there around 10pm and got my uncle checked in. He went through the immigration around 11.15pm and I was left alone to loiter. Went and got myself a magazine and also brought along my Nintendo DS to pass the time.

All was good for the first hour and half. Then the boredom kicked in. The place was cold and quiet as most of those around were transit passengers and were mostly asleep. Luckily before I knew it, it was already 1.30am. Went downstairs to the Arrival Hall only to find out there isn't any fucking information on my dad's flight. Damn Shenzhen Airlines. Didn't even know such an airline existed. I mean it was displayed to arrive at 1.30am but thats it. No other information what so ever. No delay or arrived or retimed message. Stupid information counter was useless, all they know is what the damn monitor says. Hellave informative huh. Ended up roaming around aimlessly till about 3.45am when their flight finally landed. Only when my dad got out of the Arrival Hall did the stupid display showed that the flight had landed. Can you beat that?! LOL. And to think my dad was one of the last few that walked out. Sigh. Hellave world class airport I tell you.

Sigh. So at the end of it I spent 6 fucking hours in KLIA and spent quite a bit. RM17 for parking and RM12 just for a fucking value meal. Arrggghh. Used to think it was an impressive airport but not anymore. Maybe for short visits to impress tourist. Think I'll stop rambling now. Just wanted to vent for a bit. Hehe. Cheerio folks...

Arrgghhh. Looks like before I know it I'll be blind la. Dammit. Within one year and my power has risen again. Although in the positive sense I gotta be relieved cos when I noticed my contacts were getting blurry I thought my eyes were fucked. Especially since I was using Renu's solution which had all sorta probs. Thankfully its nothing like.

another phone?!

I know I know. Always said I won't simply change my phone. Somehow I suddenly had this urge to get a new phone and its done. Have already ordered it and should be getting it sometime this week. Can't wait really. Hehe. Another new toy to play with. Still sticking with Motorolas though. Was considering Sony Ericsson since I wanted a music based phone but I never did like their interface. So have decided on getting a Motorola ROKR E2. Plus its almost identical to my existing Motorola E398. Now I have to find a waterfish to offload my current phone. Hehe...

My old man was also itchy on getting a new phone. So I decided to get him what he wanted which was a basic phone with radio feature plus gotta be a Nokia. So another new addition to the family is the Nokia 6030. Hope he'll be happy with it...

annual dinner...

Finally after 3 fucking years I got to attend my company's annual dinner. It wasn't much to shout about but with the right company we manage to make it good for ourselves. Guess its also due to the free flow of beers. Hehe. It felt like a Chinese wedding dinner as most of the time we just went around yum seng 'ing like there was no tommorrow. It was trips between the tables to the bar. Till of course they decided to stop serving beers. Hehe. I think our tables practically ran the tap dry. Dammit it should be free flow all night. After all it was our 35th Anniversary right?!

After dinner we proceeded to this club called Rain which is behind Burger King and Projet in Sri Hartamas. Part of Modestos. It was empty but before you know it we had it filled up. It was great to have the club all to ourselves. By the end of the night we were all sloshed. Most of us can't even recall what happened. I did something I never do, even I can't believe it. I danced! LOL. Sadly I can't remember most of it but from the looks of it, I was pretty impressive. Hehe. Think something must have come over me.

Boy it sure was a good night although sadly I can't remember bits and pieces of it. Been awhile since we had such a good time. Gotta get together with the mates more often. Although I could do without the morning hangover. LOL. Thankfully no vomitting fits just an upset tummy. Phew...

we lost!!!

Arrgghhh. Nooooooooo. Man Utd actually lost today. OMG. I can't believe it. And to lowly Southend. Sigh. We even had an almost full first team squad. Why? Why? Why? Now we can't even be sure of winning the damn Carling Cup. LOL.

Dammit I still can't believe it. Arrgghhh...

another audio upgrade...

Ahh got itchy again. Finally bought myself a bigger subwoofer for the car. This time a 12 inch Alpine Type R (picture below). Sadly my amp can only pump 300w into it while the woofer can handle 500w. Now I'm itchy to change my amp to something more powerful. Sigh. Think this will never end la. One after the other. Hopefully I'll be able to sell of my current amp for a decent price and upgrade accordingly.



Am very happy with the outcome though. Much better bass output and it can hit so much lower as well. Not to mention the punch. Damn I wonder whats next. Hmmm. Change my front components to something more musical? Maybe add some rear speakers? Decisions decisions...
