2007 resolutions...

Ok think its time to come up with some resolutions for this year. Some goals to aspire to. Was happy to have accomplished about 67% of it last year so hopefully will be able to do the same this time around. Lets see...

1. Buy a house (really need to get one this year!)
2. Go for a beach holiday (preferably a long one)
3. Lose more weight (still wanna reach my goal of 76kgs)
4. Get a better job (work is getting too routine plus i need more money!)

Hmm think that should do it. Don't need too many after all. Gotta stay focused. Wish me luck folks! =)

first post for 2007...

Wow time surely flies. Its already 2007. Before you know it I'll be 28 years old. Hope all of you had a blast ushering in the new year. Wish all of you a good year ahead and hope all ya resolutions come true or close to it at least. I haven't thought of any yet, been procrastinating. Hehe.

Well just wanted to have a post on the first day of 2007. Don't really have much to add. Hehe. Rather lazy really. LOL. Gonna catch the MU vs. Newcastle game in a bit. Goodnight folks!

rm25 fried sotong?!

Arrgghh. Just got back from one of the most expensive yet worse mamak dinner ever. We were at Pelita, Bangsar. As usual had the nasi kandar with my all time favourite fried squid. I know it was suicide just ordering it cos the highest I've seen listed is RM14 just for the squid. I was ready to pay that amount cos I had to satisfy my cravings. But can you guess how much freaking Pelita charged me? And I'm talking about say a 6 inch piece of squid here. Fucking RM25 just for the squid. OMG. I asked the waiter and he says its normal. Told him why not list the damn price so people don't get a heart attack and he had the cheek to tell me that I should have asked. RM25 for a 6 inch piece of friend squid. Freaking a! Dammit. After bitching for a bit he went to speak to his boss and came back. Gave me a RM5 discount. LOL. RM20 is still fucking too much. The damn squid didn't even taste good. Arrgghh. I'm never heading back to Pelita again. Damn highway robbery!

2006 resolutions...

Wow time surely flies. In another 12 days we'll be ushering in 2007. This morning I started thinking back of the resolutions I made for this year and if I manage to accomplish any of em'. To tell you the truth I didn't remember much of it but lets have a look shall we.

1. Lose weight
Surprisingly managed to lose 2.5kgs, very impressive (at least to me) although handful of ppl are telling me to stop losing. :P

2. Look for a new job
Not forthcoming this year, even my job scope hasn't changed. Sigh. I did have offers but nothing safe enuff for me to actually accept.

3. Find a girlfriend
Ahh managed to find someone finally. Sadly its not going to be easy. Gonna be rocky for quite awhile but hope all works out. Wish me luck folks!

4. Travel overseas
Manage to head to North India for 16 days, had a great experience. Won't go back though. Hehe.

5. Buy a house
Not forthcoming as well. Still haven't mustered up enuff downpayment. =(

6. Slow down on my drinking
Even though most don't believe it but yes i have cut down on my liquor. Hmmm maybe thats how I lost some weight. =)

All and all not that bad huh. 4 outta 6. 67% success rate. Guess I can work on the other 2 in 2007 with a whole load of other resolutions. Haven't really thought about it but I'll come up with something soon.

merry christmas...

Ahh its that time of the year again. I don't really celebrate it but somehow it is one of the most colorful holidays around. Could be due to the abundance of songs on it as well as all the colorful decorations. Guess being in US for 4 years also influenced me a tad bit. The celebrations there are much more elaborate and festive though especially being their major holiday as well as the bundles and bundles of snow. Sigh. Really do miss snow. Come December the environment just changes. Everyone is perkier and go about with more gusto. You don't really get that in Malaysia. I noticed its more of a shopping holiday than anything else. Can't help it with all the year end sales.

This year I'll be pigging out during Christmas. Gonna starve till then though. Been abstaining from alot of stuff. After losing some weight, last thing I wanna do before 2007 is gain it all back. LOL. Although am not sure I can withold myself with all the yummy treats on offer. Anyways its not often you get to pig out so might as well dig in right. Hehe.

40% pay hike?!

OMG. Can you freaking believe it?! CUEPACS is requesting a pay hike of around 40% for civil workers. To top it off they actually feel that they DESERVE it! LOL. Supposedly all justified with their improvements in service. Can anyone please tell me which part has been improved? Are they like more prompt in going for their breaks? Or is it the great 'smile' they provide when serving customers? KPIs my ass! Do they even know what it stands for. Arrrgggh. Dammit I am the one who deserves a freaking pay hike. Give me 15% and I'll be happy. No make that 10%. I'll be smiling throughout my work day I tell ya. At least I meet my KPIs. Actually, come to think of it, at least I have freaking KPIs! =P

Woo Hoo! Man United has made it into the knockout stages of Champions League (by beating Benfica 3-1). Phew. Was pretty scary as they needed a draw just to qualify but they screwed 2 easy games (against Celtic and FC Copenhagen) which they should have secured. Plus if history repeats itself, Benfica was the team that kicked us out before. Anyhoo the Red Devils are in and thats all that matters! =)

A GREAT BIG CONGRATULATIONS to Nicol David for her great achievement. With all the stress as well as multiple tournaments she has gone through this year, she managed to retain her World Championship title. This only cements her world #1 ranking in the Women's International Squash Players Association. Nicol is truly the best sports person in Malaysia in a looooooooong time if not ever. By her own accord she worked herself up to be the best female squash player in the world. Not to mention one of the youngest. Am very proud of her and so is most Malaysians I am sure. Someone we can truly look up to.

watch exhibition...

Just got back from a really good watch exhibition entitled "The Conquest of Time". It was organised by Sincere Watch Limited and only cost RM10 which was cheap considering all the masterpieces on display as well the free books given by each watchmaker. There were a total of 25 brands on display like Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe, Jaegar-leCoultre and IWC. Think the cheapest there would be Tag Heuer.

I got to give props to Audemars Piguet as they had the best booth. They opened up all the mechanisms and gave the public a closer view of their creations. I would pay the entrance fee just for that booth really. Plus the President of the company was down as well. I only just found out that it is the first time Audemars Piguet is presenting the biggest collection of 2006 Millenary watches, including the much talked-about MC-12. Hit on the hyperlink to check out the watches they had on display. Really good stuff. No wonder the big guy was done. Hehe.

My favourite watch was also on display (pictured below) and guess how much it cost? About RM1 million odd. Hehe. I wonder when I would be able to easily plonk that much for a watch. Guess there is no harm in dreaming right. ;)

I would advise all those that are interested in watches to check this show out. I guarentee you wouldn't be dissappointed. Sigh. If only I could have walked away with one or 2 of them. LOL.

stupid airport...

What a freaking long day yesterday. My uncle who came down from UK was returning home while my dad was coming back from China. One was leaving at 11.45pm while the other returning at 1.30am. As expected I had to hang about in the airport throughout cos it would cost more to make 2 rounds. Got there around 10pm and got my uncle checked in. He went through the immigration around 11.15pm and I was left alone to loiter. Went and got myself a magazine and also brought along my Nintendo DS to pass the time.

All was good for the first hour and half. Then the boredom kicked in. The place was cold and quiet as most of those around were transit passengers and were mostly asleep. Luckily before I knew it, it was already 1.30am. Went downstairs to the Arrival Hall only to find out there isn't any fucking information on my dad's flight. Damn Shenzhen Airlines. Didn't even know such an airline existed. I mean it was displayed to arrive at 1.30am but thats it. No other information what so ever. No delay or arrived or retimed message. Stupid information counter was useless, all they know is what the damn monitor says. Hellave informative huh. Ended up roaming around aimlessly till about 3.45am when their flight finally landed. Only when my dad got out of the Arrival Hall did the stupid display showed that the flight had landed. Can you beat that?! LOL. And to think my dad was one of the last few that walked out. Sigh. Hellave world class airport I tell you.

Sigh. So at the end of it I spent 6 fucking hours in KLIA and spent quite a bit. RM17 for parking and RM12 just for a fucking value meal. Arrggghh. Used to think it was an impressive airport but not anymore. Maybe for short visits to impress tourist. Think I'll stop rambling now. Just wanted to vent for a bit. Hehe. Cheerio folks...

Arrgghhh. Looks like before I know it I'll be blind la. Dammit. Within one year and my power has risen again. Although in the positive sense I gotta be relieved cos when I noticed my contacts were getting blurry I thought my eyes were fucked. Especially since I was using Renu's solution which had all sorta probs. Thankfully its nothing like.

Still its annoying la. Felt like I got myself a new pair of glasses and supply of contacts just recently. Grrr...

another phone?!

I know I know. Always said I won't simply change my phone. Somehow I suddenly had this urge to get a new phone and its done. Have already ordered it and should be getting it sometime this week. Can't wait really. Hehe. Another new toy to play with. Still sticking with Motorolas though. Was considering Sony Ericsson since I wanted a music based phone but I never did like their interface. So have decided on getting a Motorola ROKR E2. Plus its almost identical to my existing Motorola E398. Now I have to find a waterfish to offload my current phone. Hehe...

My old man was also itchy on getting a new phone. So I decided to get him what he wanted which was a basic phone with radio feature plus gotta be a Nokia. So another new addition to the family is the Nokia 6030. Hope he'll be happy with it...

annual dinner...

Finally after 3 fucking years I got to attend my company's annual dinner. It wasn't much to shout about but with the right company we manage to make it good for ourselves. Guess its also due to the free flow of beers. Hehe. It felt like a Chinese wedding dinner as most of the time we just went around yum seng 'ing like there was no tommorrow. It was trips between the tables to the bar. Till of course they decided to stop serving beers. Hehe. I think our tables practically ran the tap dry. Dammit it should be free flow all night. After all it was our 35th Anniversary right?!

After dinner we proceeded to this club called Rain which is behind Burger King and Projet in Sri Hartamas. Part of Modestos. It was empty but before you know it we had it filled up. It was great to have the club all to ourselves. By the end of the night we were all sloshed. Most of us can't even recall what happened. I did something I never do, even I can't believe it. I danced! LOL. Sadly I can't remember most of it but from the looks of it, I was pretty impressive. Hehe. Think something must have come over me.

Boy it sure was a good night although sadly I can't remember bits and pieces of it. Been awhile since we had such a good time. Gotta get together with the mates more often. Although I could do without the morning hangover. LOL. Thankfully no vomitting fits just an upset tummy. Phew...

Arrgghhh. Nooooooooo. Man Utd actually lost today. OMG. I can't believe it. And to lowly Southend. Sigh. We even had an almost full first team squad. Why? Why? Why? Now we can't even be sure of winning the damn Carling Cup. LOL.

Ahh got itchy again. Finally bought myself a bigger subwoofer for the car. This time a 12 inch Alpine Type R (picture below). Sadly my amp can only pump 300w into it while the woofer can handle 500w. Now I'm itchy to change my amp to something more powerful. Sigh. Think this will never end la. One after the other. Hopefully I'll be able to sell of my current amp for a decent price and upgrade accordingly.



Am very happy with the outcome though. Much better bass output and it can hit so much lower as well. Not to mention the punch. Damn I wonder whats next. Hmmm. Change my front components to something more musical? Maybe add some rear speakers? Decisions decisions...

Damn looks like things are looking up. Since India I've lost about 2 kilos. My pants are now looser and I'm getting comments on looking slimmer almost daily. Hehe. Such a great feeling I tell ya. Been trying so hard to lose about 5 kgs. Still got about 3 more to go before I reach my goal.

Its been too long since I came back. Kinda forgot all I wanted to rant about. LOL. Anyways I'll just spew out whatever I can recall.

Firstly India was definately NOT what I expected. Thought it would be more modern but was sadly mistaken. No insult intended as I know its backwards because the fucking politicians just enjoy the money for themselves. Its just sad that a country with so much potential is stuck in a rut. Only time will tell I presume or maybe someone as influential as Indira Gandhi crops up. Problem is whoever it is will be assasinated. LOL. Too many enemies out there trying to keep their comfortable life in check.

During this trip we manage to get alot done albeit extremely tiring and hours and hours on the damn bus! Freaking 120kms take about 4 hours. Arrggghh. The agony. Firstly we conquered all the typical tourist spots. The Taj Mahal. Agra Fort. Amber Fort. Lotus Temple. Rose Garden. Indira Gandhi Memorial. Ganges River. River Beas. Rock Garden. India Gate. Hmmm can't recall if theres anymore but we practically covered all the locations we visited. Our trip was from Delhi to

Then we had the highlands trip which covers Shimla, Kullu and Manali. Here we managed to ride the Toy Train to Shimla. See apple trees and eat dirt cheap sweet crunchy apples in Manali. Got to head up Rohtang Pass which was one hellave experience. We had to ride up in ponies to as high as 3978m. There was supposed to be snow but it wasn't cold enough, we only managed to get slush. The coldest at that time was about 2 Celcius. We were freezing our ass off as most of us didn't have the right gear. Brrrrr. Thank god for a hot cup of brew coffee sold by the natives right up top. Hehe.

As expected besides the sights we gotta enjoy the food. After all whats a vacation without filling ya tummies with all the local goodies. We made sure though that we ate in decent restaurants or hotels as we didn't wanna get diarrhea as well as drinking only bottled water. Plus point is you could find bottled water almost all over India. We had tonnes of yummy stuff like briyani, chapatti, tandoori, naan, dosai, idli, uppuma and all sorta curries and vegetables. The best I must say is their veggies as they were always fresh and wonderfully cooked. They maintain the crunchyness as well as sweetness. Not like over here where most are just overcooked and have lost all identity. We also managed to taste some local beer which isn't all that bad, some good mango and pomegranate juices and simply delightful masala tea.

Overall I would say its a good one time experience. Don't think I will be heading there again except maybe to visit Goa or Kerala. Thats about it. I'd skip the rest of the South since I couldn't even digest the North properly which is supposed to be so much better. Guess certain culture differences is hard to accept plus I'm kind of a bitchy traveller. Hehe.

I'll be posting some pictures up later on. Damn thing doesn't seem to work right now. I have about 300 plus of em but don't expect me to have all of them up. Toodles folks...

I'm back folks! Phew. After 15 days of travelling. It was a tiring, exciting, irritating and interesting trip I must say. Got about 300 odd pics on my digicam and hopefully will be able to load em for all to share. Will blog more about the trip and my impressions of India once I recuperate. The flight back has really taken its toll on me. It was almost 12 hours of flying and transits before we reached KLIA. I'm beat! =(

Whoopie! The time has come. I'm off to India for the first time for about 15 days tomorrow mornin'. Hopefully it'll be a good adventure/experience. Going back to my roots so to speak. Maybe find myself a bride or something. LOL. Will post about the trip once I return. Wish me well folks!! =)

woof woof...

Phew. Just got back from University Putra Malaysia in Serdang. Was there from 8am till about 2pm. They had their annual Dogathon whereby this year's theme was Pirates: All Paws on Deck! It was their 10th Anniversary as well. I've always wanted to check out a dog show and have missed a few held in 1Utama. This time I decided to head along with my mates Devan and Raj who brought along their pooches. I don't really have any pics of em though. Hopefully will be able to upload some later in the week.

It was a good outing. Got to check out all sorta breeds like Golden Retrievers, German Shepherds, Saint Bernards and even Siberian Huskies and Pit Bull Terriers. But the best of all was my favourite, Jack Russell Terriers. They are the ones used in the movie The Mask as well as the comedy serial Frasier. They are so cute, playful and active. Suits my character. Hehe. Well at least the playful part. =P

Sigh. Wish I could have a dog again. Owner of the house says no way. Guess I'll only be able to get one once I move out and live on my own. God only knows when that will happen. Oh well, at least I got mates who have lovely doggies. Get to play with em' every now and then. Come to think of it, one of them is gonna turn 2 soon. Hopefully I'll be around then to celebrate with the gang.

vacation time!

Ahhh after some time I'm soon to be off again for a long vacation. This time I'm heading to India with my dad. Will be concentrating on the North. Will be following a tour organised by a family friend. Think its gonna be about 16 of us out of which we personally know 6 of em'. Hope the group will be good. Not some typical old bags. Hehe. The tour will visit about 3 hillstations, the city of Delhi, Agra for the Taj Mahal and Jaipur for all the majestic castles. Am praying it won't be raining since its the tail end of the of monsoon season in India. Also am praying I won't get any tummy problems as I've been advised by many to be careful over there. Gotta pay attention to what I drink and eat.

Hmmm its gonna be about 1 week plus before I'm off. Getting all excited di. Can't wait. Hope this week goes by quick! =)

slap in the face...

How would you react if you got a slap in the face from a person whom you thought was close to you? When I say slap I do not mean literally as in the physical action but more of being backstabbed in terms of wordplay or gossips and what not. I'm sure you get what I mean. This has not happened to me before until recently. I mean I have gotten flack from people I don't care much about but from a friend. It was the first time for me. From then I started re evaluating my perception on what a friend really is or more of whom I should regard as a friend.

How would one mix friend and work? How about friend and boss? Its interesting really to see from a 3rd party's point of view of the whole thing. I spoke to about 4 ppl on this and surprisingly they don't blame me for how I feel and have the same thoughts. Hmmm. Now how would one move on from such an incident? Do you brush it off and thread lightly in the future? Do you take it with a pinch of salt and just forget about it? I was always told not to be close with my collegues as issues will always arise due to the difference in position. I was told to not mix with them too much. Sadly that isn't my nature. In my view I am able to separate work and outside and hence I try to build relationships with my colleagues. Sadly I'm starting to realise that just because I can do it doesn't mean others can. And when a relationship does turn sour, things get complicated. I mean I don't start bullying them at work or something but the whole relationship changes. It becomes more of a colleague than a friend. More of an Employee ID than a name. Sigh. Its tough.

Oh well I think I'll stop rambling on this topic. Its rather sensitive and I might say something to offend the wrong people. Anyhoo I just wanted to let it out. Even if it was just a lil' bit. There is only so much a person can hold inside right. Anyways you take care folks while I pack up to head home. Gd' nite!

Arrgghhh. Why in hell isn't Sir Alex getting anyone in?! We need ppl dammit. The squad is depleting ever so slowly. We've lost Keane and soon Ruud (not like he was any help anyways). Plus the others left behind are getting old, too young or totally useless. If we wanna make an impact this year we gotta beef up. Every other top team in EPL have bought handful of players. Not sure if any of them will make an impact but at least they are getting ppl in.

We at least need 1 striker and 1 midfield. If possible another defender. The more options we have the better since the current squad seem to be injury prone. Sigh. Its depressing waiting on Alex to decide who to get while so many are being snapped up. Pray that we don't end up with an expensive asswipe like the few we've had in the past.

Oh well, all I can do is whine about it. After all its not my money that is being spent and it ain't my job on the line. Hehe. But I bought a jersey dammit. I should have at least 0.00000000001% say right?? =(

i'm 27 already!!

Sigh. Another year just went by in a flash. I turned 27 three days ago and I still haven't got what I hoped to achieve. Nothing much has changed in the past year. No new assets, no girlfriend, nothing. Same old crap, day in and day out. Even in the workplace I'm doing the same role. Sigh. I was hoping to at least get a house but so far nothing. Coming up with the downpayment has been a BIG issue. Only thing I can say I did this past year was to go on a cruise. Which was great I must add but it isn't much to shout about. Fun and games are great but the progress in life seem to be at a standstill. I know I know, most of you would say I should be happy with what I got and how far I have come and better to be alive than dead and all those positive stuff. But personally, shouldn't I have a goal to reach. An expectation. Maybe I am expecting too much. Hmmm, maybe its just my aunty visiting. LOL.

Oh well, think I'll end my rant here. Happy Birthday to me and hope I can accomplish more this coming year. Toodles folks!

My 27th birthday is today and a few mates of mine got together on Saturday to have a lil' celebration. We started out with dinner at Chilis in KLCC. Just a small gathering, about 6 of us. Food was the usual. My favourite Fajitas. Yummy. The surprise of the day was a Almond Brittle cheesecake baked by my lovely colleagues. Their first effort in baking and it was SERIOUSLY GOOD. Super duper rich and tasty. It cost them RM138!! Can you imagine? Thats like 2 Secret Recipe cakes la. Found out it was because they used really good ingredients. I'm touched and really grateful. Best part of the cake was the top. Its actually one whole bar of melted Lindt swiss chocolate. Ooooh. So orgasmic I tell ya. =)

After the scrumptious dinner, we adjourned to Bar Savannah located along Heritage Row in KL. There we met up with another group of fellas. Got a nice couch facing a plasma screen. Y'all should know why that is. Portugal was playing England. World Cup quaterfinals. Can't miss that can we. Bless us all cos Portugal won! Woo Hoo. Screw England! Muahahahaha. It was a pretty decent game. Well at least the environment and excitement made it great. Once the game ended, all hell broke lose. Two bottles of Chivas were emptied by then. Someone bought me 2 flaming lamborghinis after that. And then another bottle of Chivas was opened, and finished. I barely remember anything since then. I knew one part which I ranted below. I knew I vomited out of my mates car. Three times! LOL. Poor fella. He spent about 30 minutes outside my house washing up. Thankfully I was sober enuff to open the windows and project it outside. Hehe. Sorry dude. Really feel bad about it. =(

All in all it was a pretty fulfilling night. Good food and drinks and great fun with my mates. Its been awhile. Especially getting drunk. Haven't done that in a loooooooong time. I'm not saying I should but its ok to release once in awhile. Isn't it not? Hehe...

Boy am I pleased with the way the World Cup is playing out. As of today all favourites have been kicked out. None of which I was supporting except for England (mainly due to the English Premier League) until I saw how the stank during the group stages. I then focused my support to Germany and Portugal. Now Portugal is a team I feel deserves to win the Cup of Life this time around. They have played amazingly in every single game with or without their first 11. Now that is an accomplisment. Plus they have played some really good football. Unlike Brazil who sing and praise about beautiful futbal but was far from it! It was nice to see them crash out to France again. Good for you for being too cocky and confident.

I think the last 3 games is going to be pretty interesting. I'm rooting for a Germany vs. Portugal final. I think it would be a real cracker of a game. Hopefully both team will be able to field their top 11 as well but I doubt it as this World Cup has been really colorful. Red and yellow cards flying about like nobodies business. A lot of wrong calls and bad fouls which in turn destroyed the hopes of many teams from progressing further. Hopefully the last 3 games (4 if you count third and fouth placing tie) will be marshalled properly. Don't want the wrong team to win out of trickery.

Last night I was chilling with some mates of mine at Bar Savannah watching the England vs. Portugal game as well as having an early birthday celebration of sorts. After many pecks of Chivas, my mate decided to chat up this 2 ladies nearby to dance with me. Now the only main reason he did that was because I don't dance. Yes it has to do with me not knowing how to dance but its also because I couldn't give 2 hoots about it and never found any interest after years and years of persuasion by girlfriends and mates. Anyhoo these gals come up and coherse me into dancing with em. Its supposed to be my luck it seems to have 2 girls wanting to dance with me. By then I was wasted and coudn't care much and decided to join them. As expected I was dancing like an ass and one of the gals was telling me I should learn how to dance and so on. But you know what ticked me off the most. She said to get a gal I should be able to dance. Bitch please?!

What the fuck has dancing got to do with getting a date? I've had a handful of girlfriends and I don't recall them being bothered about me not dancing. Yes they did try to coherse me into dancing, which fails all the time, but it didn't stop us from having a relationship. Jeeez. What has dancing got to do with anything? Except for maybe some short term fun during the weekends. There is many other ways to loosen up ya know. Anyways I just wanted to share my rant. Better hit the showers now. Cheers folks.

i'm a malaysian!!

Guess what? After 6 months of waiting I am finally a Malaysian again. My freaking replacement IC (MyKad) got made and I picked it up earlier at the PJ branch. Phew. No more using my temp IC and explaining to the bank why my MyKad isn't ready. I still can't believe it took freaking 6 months!!

Now I gotta check using Astro if I'm still a Hindu male. Never know how much further they could have phucked it up. I'm just happy I finally got it. =)

Damn I just slammed into my bathroom door. Arrgggh. It fucking hurts. Now I got a bump in my forehead. Freaking door. I closed it after spraying some mosquito spray. Forgot all about it and it was dark. Went to pee and bang. Hit the damn door. *Mumble*

As of today the 20th of June 2006, Petaling Jaya will be known as a city, no more a town. Whoop di fucking doo. Something the council seem to be very proud of. Even organised a celebration costing around RM2 million. How in the world did we get the title is beyond me. Most of the roads are buggered with potholes and cracks everywhere. Traffic lights still faulty. Many streetlights not even working. Sigh.

Why bother about a title when you can't even do your job right?! And to think we are one of the richest councils in Malaysia. Bah....

Finally after months and months of anticipation, speculations and predictions, the Cup of Life has started. First game between Germany and Costa Rica just finished about 2 hours ago and it was one hell of a first game. Germany of course heading up tops with 4 goals to 2. Think I'm going to have multiple sleepless nights and drowsy mornings. Thankfully the games are played at 9pm, 12am and 3am. So most of them I will be able to catch without affecting my life cycle. Sometimes its good to work according to UK hours. =)

Hmmm. Today's date is 6/6/06. Once in a lifetime coincidence. On one part of the world its supposed to be an auspicious day. This is because the number 6 in Hokkien sounds like 'luck' (correct me if I'm wrong on this). And we all know saying luck 3 times in a row is always a good thing. Then you have the other part of the world who believe that 666 is the mark of the beast, the Antichrist. Hence the nicely planned release of The Omen (a remake of course) today.

So which is it? Do we take it as a good auspicious day and paint the town red, get hitched, buy a lottery ticket or take a chance in something. Or do we shy away from it since it related to the Antichrist which would mean bad luck, hell, evil and all that dark stuff. Its weird right how 2 cultures can view the same day in 2 extremes. Good vs Evil. Right vs Wrong.

I for one couldn't care less. Its just another day in our life. You don't need the damn date to be a special number to do something. How can we waste our time using numerology to control our views, actions and life. Don't we already have enough shit in our plate to trouble us already. The only numbers we should be worried about is how much is coming in at the end of the month and how much we gotta take out to survive!

new babe in the house...

I've been bugging my old man for years now to change his car. He currently drives a 1997 Peugeot 406 with about 70 odd thousand KMs on it. It was a babe when it came out but as years went by and with all the new cars coming out every other month, it was only obvious for our attention to divert. As he was retired and also does not use the car much, he didn't really want to waste money. I'm not sure how but I guess all the bugging must have worked because he just made a booking for the 2006 Honda Civic 2.0 Sport.

Woo hoo. It'll be ready in maximum 6 months time but expected to be much sooner. We decided on the Pearl Red Habanero (pictured above) which surprisingly is the least liked color. Good in the sense the car will come delivered faster plus there won't be many around. Hehe. Although thats what I thought with my car but before I knew it, the color became the most popular. Sigh. Guess people are reluctant till its seen on the roads.

Now I'm all excited and its not even mine. Can't wait to get the new babe in the house. Think I might just give my old man my car. Its smaller after all and better for him to handle. LOL. Alright I better get back to work. Toodles folks!

Yay, just got myself a new gadget. A brand new 'flashed' Ice Blue Nintendo DS Lite. I know I know, I just sold off my Sony PSP. Well after careful consideration I realised this is the right portable thingy for me. I hope this time it lasts as well. One of the most important factors is that most of the games can be downloaded for free. Hehe. If you get my drift. At this moment I have about 400 odd games given with the system. So you can imagine the excitement. Doubt I'll ever need to spend money on this baby anymore except for may more memory cards. LOL.

So far I've played about 5 games and am happy with my selection. Don't think I plan to sell it anytime soon. Hehe. Hope never actually. As long as there is a download available I should be a happy camper. Anyways time to get back to my games. Toodles.

Sigh. Its funny how things work out. I was so eager to get my Sony PSP that I took months to research it and went about looking for good deals. Now not only 2 months after purchasing the system I have sold it. With a lost of about RM200. Looks more like I rented a unit for 2 months. LOL. After getting it I realised it just wasn't what I was looking for. The games were too time intensive plus the unit was too fragile. I didn't use it for the movies or music which was a waste. I'm not saying its a useless system but more of it just wasn't right for me. I wanted something portable, light with fun/short/cheesy games that I can play without thinking too much. Plus I wanted it just for the games which sadly was lacking under the PSP. The games rolled out were just ported stuff from Sony PS2. Nothing original came out. I also found it hard to maintain the system. The games were just too freaking expensive. Thankfully I managed to offload it before its value dropped.

It was fun while it lasted...=(

good first run...

Boy was it a tiring day yesterday. We were at the start by 530am and was 3rd in row for the treasure hunt. All 4 of us were pumped with excitement. We looked like drug addicts after a fix. Cars started to trickle in soon after and before you know it, the place was packed. I couldn't believe my eyes as 280 cars lined up. I think there were about 1000 participants in all roaming about munching on some breakfast and drinking coffee. After a short briefing the race was on at 730am.

There were 2 legs. The first was pretty easy. We just had to get to 4 locations of various sponsors and get our form chopped. After that we had to solve 1 riddle for the first treasure. We sped through that as if the cops were on our ass. Manage to accomplish everything within an hour. Then it was Leg 2. Thats when all hell broke loose. We had a total of 30 questions ranging from anagrams to riddles to direct translations. The idea was to drive to certain locations according to our tulip (driver) notes and find signs that are related to our answers. We had to pinpoint the exact sign and right down the full details. Any form of difference is a straight zero. Sounds easy enough but it was no walk in the park. We were breaking down by the 3rd question. The lack of sleep didn't help either. Plus the damn questions were HARD! Many of the questions we just guessed on the answers as it seemed right and there was a sign board on it. Surprisingly we those correct and the ones we thought we nailed we got wrong. LOL. I'm proud to say that for our first ever hunt we only got 6 wrong.

The hunt ended around 2pm. We managed to reach just 7 minutes before the allocated time slot. This too because of one of our crew who forgot to fill in a handful of questions plus spelling a few more wrong. Arrggghh. That pissed me off big time. I would have torn his freaking head off if I could. After all that rushing and ensuring we got it done right, one nut has to spoil it. The delay did cost us a place or 2 as well, so you can imagine the frustration. At the end of it all we were the 54th car out of 260. Something I was rather proud of although I was aiming for Top 50. If we only got one more question right we would have been in that category. Thankfully Top 110 cars got something to take home. We won a Phillips Portable CD Player each. Not something I want but at least something worthwhile.

All in all it was a great adventure. There were excitement, anger, frustration, joy and many other moments. I think it would have made for a great documentary. LOL. Can't wait for the next Treasure Hunt. Hope this time we break into the Top 20s. =)

Arggghhhh some people just pisses me off! Today during Da Vinci Code (which is a great movie I must add), I was seated next to this lady who had a runny nose, sore throat and a terrible cough. Now who the fuck goes to the movies sick as a dog. Its so freaking inconsiderate. Throughout the movie (2.5 hours I must add) she was coughing and sneezing away. Not even bothered about those surrounding her or the others in the cinema. I'm not really bothered about the noise she makes but the damn contamination. If you are so sick, stay the fuck home and get better. Not take MC and go catch a movie. Arrggghhh. Wish I could just bitch slap that lady.

Its been awhile but I'll be going for my movie binge tommorrow. Had to take leave for the Treasure Hunt on Saturday and since I have my whole morning and afternoon free, what better way to spend it. Gonna watch Mission Impossible 3 and the infamous Da Vinci Code. Hopefully I'll be able to get up since the first movie starts at 11am and I only knock out around 4am. I'm also praying that the cinemas won't be packed since Da Vinci Code opened today. Heard most shows are fully booked for the next handful of days. Guess all the publicity helps.

Well I better get back to work. Gotta submit a report soon and I haven't even started it yet. =(

a hunting we shall go...

Wish us luck folks. We managed to squeeze ourselves into this year's theSun Motor Hunt. We will be up against 200 odd cars under the Open Category (supposedly meant for No0Bs). Should be pretty exciting as none of us have gone for a treasure hunt before. Only downside is we gotta be up and ready by 7am! Sigh. All of us are graveyard shift buggers so that is gonna be one hellave task. Guess what are team name is? I'm sure you can't. The organiser even laughed when I confirmed it with her. Well we are going with 'Goondens'. Yup you heard right. Kinda suits us since 2 of us are gundens while the other 2, well they eat just as much. LOL.

Anyhoo. Am pretty excited about this. Hope we manage to walk away with something. A prize of some sort. Think one of the biggies is a 42" plasma screen. Yummy. Just before World Cup 2006 as well. Well I gotta head back to work. Once again, wish us luck folks! =)

Little Johnny was 7 years old and like other boys in
his age rather curious. ....

He had been hearing quite a bit about 'making out'
from the older boys, and he wondered what it was
and how it was done.

One day he took his question to his mother, who
became rather flustered. Instead of explaining
things to Johnny, she told him to hide behind the
curtains one night and watch his older sister and
her boyfriend.

This he did. The following morning, Johnny described
EVERYTHING to his mother.

"Sis and her boyfriend sat and talked for a while,
then he turned off most of the lights. Then he
started kissing and hugging her. I figured 'Sis must
be getting sick, because her face started looking
funny.

He must have thought so too, because he put his
hand inside her blouse to feel her heart, just the
way the doctor would. Except he's not as smart as
the doctor because he seemed to have trouble
finding her heart. I guess he was getting sick too,
because pretty soon both of them started panting
and getting all out of breath.

His other hand must have been cold because he
put it under her skirt.

About this time 'Sis got worse and began to moan
and sigh and squirm around and slide down
toward the end of the couch. This was when her fever
started. I knew it was a fever, because Sis told him
she felt really hot.

Finally, I found out what was making them so
sick - a big eel had gotten inside his pants
somehow. It just jumped out of his pants and
stood there, about 10 inches long, honest, anyway
he grabbed it in one hand to keep it from getting
away.

When Sis saw it, she got really scared-her eyes
got big, and her mouth fell open, and she started
calling out to God and stuff like that. She said it
was the biggest one she's ever seen; I should tell
her about the ones down at the lake by our house!

Anyway, Sis got brave and tried to kill the eel by
biting its head off. All of a sudden she grabbed it
with both hands and held it tight while he took a
muzzle out of his pocket and slipped it over the
eel's head to keep it from biting again.

Sis lay back and spread her legs so she could get
a scissor-lock on it and he helped by lying on top
of the eel. The eel put up a hell of a fight.

Sis started groaning and squealing and her
boyfriend almost upset the couch. I guess they
wanted to kill the eel by squashing it between
them.

After a while they both quit moving and gave a
great sigh. Her boyfriend got up, and sure enough,
they killed the eel. I knew because it just hung
there, limp, and some of its insides were hanging
out.

Sis and her boyfriend were a little tired from the
battle, but they went back to courting anyway. He
started hugging and kissing her again. By golly,
the eel wasn't dead! It jumped straight up and
started to fight again.

I guess eels are like cats, they have nine lives or
something. This time, Sis jumped up and tried to
kill it by sitting on it. After about a 35 minute
struggle, they finally killed the eel. I knew it was
dead, because I saw Sis's boyfriend peel its skin
off and flush it down the toilet.

citizenship update...

Guess what? Got an update on my MyKad fiasco. Looks like they 'misplaced' my application. It would seem they 'misplace' about 150 odd a month. Can you beat that? Wow. Talk about efficiency. Sigh. Supposedly they are working on it now. Just gotta pray that it'll be done within' a week or so. If not I might as well just deport myself. =(

Sigh. Looks like I might get deported soon. To where I'm not sure but Malaysia sure ain't sure if they want me. Its been 6 months since I applied for a replacement MyKad (after it was stollen with my wallet). I've been to both PJ and Putrajaya branches. PJ tells me to head to Putrajaya while over there they tell me its under review. Review?! For 6 fucking months?! I mean I thought we were going towards the 9th Malaysian Plan. C'mon la. Plus I had my MyKad way before the deadline and last minute rush. I think I was one of the first batches when MyKad was introduced. Arrggh. Only hope when it does come out I don't have any other problems with it. Maybe I'll suddenly be Muslim or Buddhist or better still maybe a female. They seem to love doing that. Only our government can fuck up simple data entry and then expect you to pay to get it fixed. LOL. Oh Malaysia. When will you ever live up to your own dreams and aspirations.

This magical moment will never happen again except this Wednesday on the 4th of May 2006 at 1:02:03 in the morning. The Star newspaper is even asking their readers to post up what they did during this time for a chance to win some prize for the most interesting idea. What are you folks gonna do? Or for late readers, what did you do?

Guess what I'll be up to then? I'll be just finishing work! Arrggghhh. So at that special moment I'll most probably be shutting down my laptop and packing up. I might not even realise it till I get home or better yet, till the next day. LOL. Oh well, so much for being auspicious. To those that actually planned something, hope it works out for ya. damn elevators...

Arrghhh today is the first time I got trapped in an elevator! With about 10 other colleagues from the training. Took the damn hotel 20 minutes as well to get it fixed and running. 5 star hotel my ass! When we paged the dude about the elevator, all he said was 'Ok' and then silence. We paged again about 5 minutes later and then only does he reply with an update. Jeeeez. At least some acknowledgement la. Lucky the lights and ventilation of the lift didn't shut down. If not we would have had a pretty stressed out crowd. Some of them were already complaining about lack of oxygen and better not talk too much. LOL. Guess no harm in preparing for the worse. Anyways time for sleep again. Another early morning tommorrow and somehow my body can't really cope with the time difference. Sigh.

paid vacation...

La la la. Tommorrow I'm off on a paid vacation for 3 whole days. Yup you guess it, its seminar and conference time again. Starting tommorrow I have 1 day of conference to attend with about 8 speakers. All talking about various aspects of a contact center. This followed by 2 days of training. At the end of the training (if I pass the exam as well), I'll be a certified Contact Center Manager. Its not that big a certification but its better than nothing. Help spruce up my resume especially considering the certification is endorsed by Contact Center Association of Malaysia. So I can't really complain. This time around the seminar should be worth while. Hopefully I won't be gaining anymore weight especially after loosing almost 3 kilos recently. Wish me luck on that. Gotta head home early now so I can wake up on time. Gd'nite folks!

damn taxes...

What the fuck is wrong with our country?! Can't we get anything right. 9th Malaysian Plan my ass. We got a long way to go before thats a reality. We can't even give and follow simple directions.

Its that time again when we all gotta do our taxes. Dateline is coming soon and so I tried to beat the rush and queues by doing mine early. After all the paperwork it turns out I owe Malaysia a couple hundred ringgit. So I did as the form says and got a check ready and placed into an envelope with the address of the collection department. As the Kelana Jaya office was pretty nearby, I decided to head down there and dump it in the collection box. Much safer and at least I have the confidence that its already with them, instead of being stuck in some mailbag or thrown in a drain somewhere. After dropping it off it was a relief off my back. Don't have to worry about this till next year.

Sadly that wasn't the case. Looks like my ass luck kicked in. Next morning I get a call from our tax department. Supposedly they changed the method of payment. No checks via the tax department. Only via the 2 designated banks. So please come and take back your check. Fine, drove down there and picked it up and had a word with the attending officer. We questioned about why no mention of this ANYWHERE as well as the form stating that its possible to drop off at or mail to the tax department. Her excuse was that they JUST changed the procedure. Then we asked what happens to all the people that mailed their checks in as the form states. You know what was her answer?! She actually said 'Too bad, it'll most probably get lost in the mail!'. Now what the fuck type of answer is that? Didn't we just hear that the government has improved their services. Its being advertised on the telly. Improved in what sense? They must have a different dictionary than mine because I don't fucking see any improvement. At times its worse than before! After that it just wasn't worth arguing anymore. Just took my check and headed to the nearest designated bank.

Now that itself was another challenge. The damn bank hid the forms needed for tax payment. Every other form was out there on the counter. From EPF payment to cash withdrawal/deposit. All except for tax payment. You gotta ask the clerk for that. Its hidden behind the counter. Looks like the bank is reeeeally 'eager' to accept tax payment right. Freaking A! Why must the process be so tedious?! I mean we are actually trying to GIVE money to the government. This isn't a refund request. Jeeez. No wonder people don't freaking bother with the taxes. Its too freaking annoying. Plus the damn tax department themselves aren't aware of the procedure. Every idiot there will tell you a different story. Get your damn procedure right!

Ssup peeps?! As mentioned in a previous post, I got my baby pimped with an audio system recently. The whole setup really blew a hole in my wallet but considering how important music is when I drive, its money well spent. I'm really satisfied with my choices and the overall installation. Due to it still being new I'm still afraid to blast it too much but once I confirm a few things with the installer, I'll let her rip. Plus its still new so gotta let it run it first. Below are some pics of the work. With this I must say that my baby is starting to build her character. Think its time to come up with a name. Any suggestions?

Damn! I should have realised when they couldn't spell 'telephone' in Bahasa Malaysia properly. That could've been an indicator of how 'great' the place was. I remember reading somewhere that this place was alright plus a colleague of mine said the same thing. Heck no! This was the worse dining experience I've had in ages and I've eaten in some pretty dodgy places mind you. For those that aren't really aware, Restoran Talipon is an 'All U Can Eat' joint focussing on Steamboat and BBQ. Now that is an offer that most can't resist but sadly I would advise ALL OF YOU to please STAY AWAY from this shit hole. It NOT WORTH the RM2o!

Firstly the lay out is as cheap as it can get. Throw some tables about, a gas tank for your stove and lay the food out. Everything is out in the open. No door or windows or partition. The rest is up to you. You take what you want and you cook it. Now this isn't all that bad but the variety sucked. The damn steamboat pot never ever reached boiling point. This is with us being there for almost 2 fucking hours. Even when it was empty it never boiled. Now tell me what kind of steamboat is that. There wasn't any STEAM in the first place! Then came the BBQ part. Which I guess wasn't all that bad except the space to do it on was so small and lacked heat it took 10 minutes to cook a slice of meat. Plus after BBQing for about half an hour, the tray gets all burnt. Now it takes even longer to cook anything. Arrrgggh. The freaking frustration. Luckily we had only 3 of us, imagine if there was more. You might have to camp your ass out there the whole night just to have a decent meal.

Sigh. After the meal I felt cheated. Raped even. Didn't expect such a joint to survive in Klang Valley. Plus people seem to frequent it. Maybe getting ripped off is an addiction for some. Or maybe they've learnt to beat the system. I dunno. One thing for sure is I ain't going back there. For that amount of money I could have had much better meal in sooo many other places. Arrghhh I hate getting ripped off!! Fuck you Talipon!!

Finally after weeks and weeks of cravings, I got my dose of banana leaf rice. *Burp* Sorry the tank is full. Had to release some pressure. Although unlike most I had mine during dinner. Can't really imagine eating so much during lunch. Had my rice at Kanna Curry House in Section 17. I like it there than most places because they have a fresher variety of veggies as well as deep fried stuff like chilli and bittergourd (which is a definate must). Sadly its also slightly more expensive. Pretty weird actually that banana leaf rice can cost so much (from RM4 to RM6 depending where you eat). I mean its just rice and vegetables plus some curry. How many people can actually eat RM4 to RM6 worth of rice?! Some places even control the intake, you can't have more without finishing your first batch. Sigh. Food seem to get pricier and pricier as time goes by. Some shops increase the price blatantly whenever something happens to the economy. We usually boycott these places but the usuals somehow still frequent them. Supporting their crooked ways. Sigh. We need to have a more supportive consumer society. Teach these daylight robbers a lesson. Put them out of business. After all we are the ones paying their damn salaries! Oh well, I'm just rambling.

Hmmm feel like a nap now. Tummy is full. Feel rather sleepy. Yaaaaawn.

audio upgrade...

Finally after months of deliberation, I have finally sent my baby to KKLau (an audio accessory shop in Kelana Jaya) for an ICE (in car entertainment) upgrade. I just couldn't take the stock crap anymore. Shes gonna get herself a pair of components in front, a new cd player, a 4 channel amplifier plus my subwoofer from Betty. Its gonna be a 100% Alpine setup. I'm also doing some sound proofing for the front doors. Would love to soundproof the whole car but its rather expensive. Maybe over time. No hurry.

I'm hoping when I collect my baby tommorrow all will be done without any hiccups. Don't want to be heading back to them numerous times. Can't wait to get her I tell ya. Feel like a kid witha new toy. Will post some pics if possible once done. Wish me luck folks! =)

remy's engagement...

Last weekend was one of the best times I've had in awhile. Its been ages since a group of us pilled up in a car and headed somewhere for a road trip. So when Remy's engagement came up, we all hopped on for the trip. Two cars went down on Friday, Dev's electric kelisa and my chubby baby with a total of 7 of us. The drive down was pretty quiet as there wasn't much traffic on the road. We maintained a speed of about 120kph and reached within 4 hours or so. Remy made arrangement for our housing and what a great choice it was. Its this place called The Zon which is on the channel between Johor and Singapore and somehow just that lil spot is considered duty free. Can imagine you imagine?? All the chocolates and liquor are duty free in that hotel! Sadly its not like Tioman or Langkawi where you can take out 1 liter if you stay overnight, unless of course you try to smuggle em' out.

Once we reached about 5pm we got ourselves cleaned up and headed downstairs to the lounge area. It was still Happy Hours (HH) till 8pm and we didn't have to go anywhere till about 9pm for Remy's birthday party. We got a shock when we checked out the pricing. One pint of draught Guiness Stout is only RM10 and you get another free during HH. A jug of draught Tiger is only RM33 with another free as well. OMFG! Can you imagine?! Its like we died and gone to heaven. I had about 2 and half pints before it was time to bounce. At the party was another shocker, there were like 3 bottles of Chivas waiting to be consumed. I really felt like I was in Wonderland. The drinks just kept coming and coming. On top of that we had some nice tidbits to take it all down with. Some deep fried pork and chicken nuggets plus deep fried taufoo. What a great combination. The night ended around 3am, which we sneaked out as we gotta be up by 9ish for Remy's engagement ceremony.

The next morning we got up around 10ish and rushed to the ceremony in a nearby Gurdwara. It was the first time for me stepping into one plus also the first time we got to see Remy actually wearing a turban. Not a bad sight I must add. It was an interesting experience. After the ceremony ended, we left for the hotel. Sadly I should have stayed because I could have tasted some good chappati and dhal. Sigh. Maybe next time. At the hotel, some of us took the oppurtunity to catch some winks before the night ceremony while the other half went down to the lobby to continue on their liquid diet. I couldn't join em because whatever I took kept coming out. Must have been all that liquid gold from the night before. Wasted because it was too cheap to miss. Sigh.

At about 5ish we all got washed and dressed up and headed to the night ceremony. It was held at this civil hall or something near Danka Bay. It was a nice simple gathering. I tell you, one thing about Sikhs, when they have a party, its all about the booze. For that night alone there were about 8 barrels of Tiger plus god only knows how many bottles of whiskey. From Chivas to Dimples. Dev told me that they had stacks of it in Remy's 'future' father in law's car. OMG. And these people can drink. There were only about 150 ppl, out of which maybe 50 odd men. From that I would say about 70% were drinking. One after another. Cheering and gulping. It was like a booze orgy. We just couldn't take the onslaught. Felt like amateurs man. I mean Dev, Jam, Vick and myself are pretty good drinkers, but somehow, compared to these folks. Sheesh. We were like high skool kids sneaking out a can of beer for kicks. Sadly we had to sneak out of this one as well. Real early too. By about 9ish we were outta there. We just couldn't take the pressure. We reached out hotel about 20 minutes later and retired to our rooms. Think Dev and Vick knocked out cold while our room (which had 4 bachelors) were playing around in the room. Think the room finally got quiet about midnight.

On Sunday we woke up about 9ish for breakfast. Then got cleaned and packed and checked out. We got ourselves some chocolates and ciggies for the smokers (stashed them in the seat tray to avoid the customs) and rolled out. We manage to get out without any problems. Think Dev even managed to smuggle out a bottle of whiskey. I didn't want to take the risk. It would've cost more if we got caught plus I think I had enuff of liquor after the last 2 nights. Before we headed back to Pee Jay we stopped over at Danka Bay. A so so place to hangout with multiple food cafes by the bay. Food wasn't much to shout about but it did its job. We filled our tummies and got on our way. Now the drive back was pretty interesting. We managed to reach PJ from Johor in about 3 hours. And this is with stopping at a rest stop and having some Baskin Robbins ice cream (which was real yummy!). There were tonnes of cars flying down and we just tailed em. Had fun bullying some arseholes who just didn't know how to drive. Think they own a SUV or Beemer they can do whatever they want. We showed em, or at least irritated the hell outta em. LOL.

All and all it was a great road trip. Remy and his friends were great hosts and the supply of booze was more than we could bargain for. Good food (and drinks!), good friends and a good time. Can't wait till the next time. Hmmm Remy, whens the wedding? ;)

Ahh just got back from Johor after spending about 2 nights there. Will blog about it more once rested. Hopefully with pictures as well. It was a great trip and the hotel we stayed in was amazing. Miss the duty free drinks and chocos. Wouldn't mind a cold pint of stout now. =)

Sigh. What a fucked up week it has been. The weekend started off ok with a good game of futsal but after that it was downhill all the way. Am still trying to recuperate from it. Bought some rojak in SS2 (which I eat quite often) and it fucked my body up real bad. Within 2 hours I was vomitting, purging and the worse part, suffering a splitting migraine. Don't ask me how you can get a headache with food poisoning but the doc says you can and I was going through that shit. Its the worse food poisoning bout I have ever experienced. The vomitting stop after I got an injection from the doc since oral meds just didn't work. I vomitted anything I took in, from water to bread to biscuits. Purging came on and off which didn't bother me much but the headache. Hotdamn! Bitch is still tormenting me. The amount of panadols and pain killers I've had so far, I think just sipping my blood can cure minor headaches. Lucky it seems to be very slight now which is a huge blessing. Hope by tommorrow it'll be all gone since I'll be heading for one of my mate's engagement in Johor. Plus I'm also one of the designated cars so I can't really sleep through the ride. Wish me luck folks.

Surprisingly, the only good thing out of all this mess? I lost 2 kilos. Yup. I guess its common since I usually lose weight after a food poisoning bout. Hmmm maybe I can start my own weight loss program. Hmmm, what should I call it?

Woo Hoo. I finally got it. I just picked up my very own Sony PSP. A black, shiny and sleek powderful gaming machine. OMG I can't wait to get home and play it. Sadly I bought it like an hour or so before work starts so I haven't even had the chance to charge it. Its still nicely wrapped and sitting on my bed. I feel like a freaking kid before Christmas morning. Even got myself a second hand game about an hour earlier. Now I have 2 games to meddle around with, Fifa 2006 and SSX On Tour. I know I know all sporty games but I just got the damn thing. Gimme some time to scout around. I actually want Daxter which is a great adventure game but sadly no second hand units out there. Patience is the key. Wait for someone else to get bored with it and sell it off. Hehe. Thats the only way to survive with PSP since we are forced to play original games.

Sigh. The damn time is moving so slow. Tick tock tick tock. I got like an hour and 5 minutes more. Arrggghhh. I can't take this!!

delayed post: krabi and phuket...

Sorry for the delay folks. Was caught up in a few things and forgot about updating my time in Phuket, Thailand. Not really much to say since we didn't spend that many days there. Spent half a day at Krabi and then moved on to Phuket where we spent about 1 and a half days. Krabi is province in south of Thailand at the shore of the Andaman Sea. Not really sure how far it is from Phuket but it took the ship about 2 hours or so. As Krabi did not have a proper port/dock, we actually anchored a kilometer or so off the beach. From there the ship arranged fisherman boats to take passengers to a few locations. Since it was a short trip, I opted for a ride to Poda Island which is off Krabi for some beach bumming. I was very pleased with my choice as Poda Island is simply breathtaking. Its a small island very near Krabi. There is nothing there except a small wooden restaurant and nature. What more could you ask for. We went very early (9am) as well so the island was deserted. Sadly at about noon the boats with tourists started coming in and the calmness gone. Before that however we had a great time bumming around. The sand was nice and soft and the water crystal blue. It was great for snorkelling but we didn't have any gear. No worries though as you could see the fish as you walked along the shore or swam. I really miss the calmness I felt on that island. Sigh. If only we had something like that off Malaysia.

After about 7 hours or so in Krabi the ship continued its way to Phuket. We reached their deep sea port around 7pm or so. After having a good dinner at the ship we followed some of the passengers on a trip to Patong Beach which was supposed to be the best place in Phuket for night life and shopping. Its also one of the major places that was hit by the tsunami recently but when you go there now you wouldn't even realise it. Everything is all cleaned up and back to normal. The only signs would be the tsunami evacuation notices and the dumb tsunami photos and shirts sold by the traders. Now the shopping isn't much to shout about as whatever pirated stuff they had there was cheaper in Malaysia anyways. The night life was pretty interesting I guess. Not what you would expect but it works. They had this street with about 200 odd bars side by side. The bars were little small ones with a bar table, some barstools, some tables and chairs and not to mention some Thai ladies to please the men. All the bars were practically the same and they seem to do pretty well. Patong Beach was a let down of sorts because it was too touristy plus not to mention sleazy. I guess it would've been better if I went with my mates instead. One thing I did like about Patong were the massages. Oooh la la and they were pretty cheap as well. Had some good massages there. Both that night and the next evening. We headed back to ship about midnite or so. Wish we could've stayed longer as things picked up as it got late but the ship was like 40 minutes from Patong.

The next morning we joined another tour arranged by the cruise. This time it was to an elephant safari, followed by Wang Talang (which is a famous precious stones outlet) and Wat Chalong (one of the most famous temples in Thailand), then some Thai buffet lunch, before heading back to Patong for a couple of hours. Out of which we only enjoyed the elephant safari, the temple and lunch. It was a great experience riding an elephant up and down rough terrain. For such a huge beast they are really agile and tough yet give out a nice fuzzy feeling. Its nice to see how Thai people especially the mahouts taking care and respecting the elephants. After the elephant safari we headed out to Wang Talang. This was a waste of time unless of course you were looking for some precious stones. We spent like 30 minutes there and headed to have our lunch. This was another highlight as the buffet setup was amazing. I've never seen so many selections before and majority of them were of yummy. There were japanese, chinese, indian, western and god knows what other cuisines layed out. Most of us took the oppurtunity to stuff ourselves silly especially after the exhaustion from the elephant ride and heat. After stuffing our faces we headed to Wat Chalong. This temple is known to be touristy as its the most biggest and ornate monastery around. I must say the architecture is really beautiful not to mention the tonnes of lovely Buddha statues inside. Would have enjoyed that part of the trip more if the weather was cooler but it was just too hot to hang about. Plus we only had like 30 minutes or so. Nothing much to blog after the temple though as Patong in the day is worse than at night. Its just meant for shopaholics. Nevertheless I did take the oppurtunity to enjoy another round of massage. Hehe. Nothing like a good rub down. ;)

All and all I enjoyed my short stint at Thailand. Although I think I would have enjoyed Pattaya or Bangkok more. Maybe next time for a full vacation and not via a cruise. More time on land then. Alrighty, time to have my beauty sleep. Gotta wake up early tommorrow to get hold of my PSP! Below are some pictures we took in Thailand. Gd'nite...

Arrggghh. Suddenly I have this huge craving/urgency to get my hands on a PSP. Not really sure why and how it came about but I need one!!! Thankfully I have the budget for it but what model to get is pissing me off. Do I get parallel imports or Sony Malaysia models? Do I get version 1.5 or the latest 2.6? Does it even matter? Sigh. Decisions decisions. Parallel imports sounds good because I can save about RM200 but these don't come with a warranty. So if my arse luck kicks in (like usual), I'll be stuck with a dead unit in no time. The Sony Malaysia ones are protected but these models are much more expensive as well as made in China. So the quality is a lil' on the down side. Then there is the firmware versions. If I wanna play free games I gotta get the 1.5v but that is like buying a diamond. Its extremely rare and the price has even reached that of a Sony Malaysia unit. Theres also the problem of not being able to play some of the latest games. Sigh. What to do?! What to do?!
