Woo Hoo! What a smashing 2nd leg semi final encounter between the Red Devils and Blaugranes at Old Trafford. Thank you Ginger Prince for you stunning 25 yard shot on the 14th minute. Wonderful wonderful goal.
Everyone did well on the pitch today. Even though Barca had most of the possession but we did have some really good chances. The last 20 odd minutes were very tensed but the boys held up well and kept the Catalans at bay. Damn what a night!
We now have for the first time ever an all English Champions League final at Moscow on May 22nd 2008. Hope this will lead to Manchester United taking the double. Keep up the tempo boys. :D

lightened pulley...
When I changed Kate's disc brakes I also installed another performance upgrade. This time it was a lightened & dampened crank pulley by Mythelogy. It is 595 grams lighter than the original pulley.
Not much gains when it comes to my butt dyno but I would say the throttle is much lighter. Revs climb up much faster even with the AC on which is a reasonable gain. The car also idles at a lower rpm. Can't really comment now on fuel consumption improvements but I don't expect much or any as now my foot is heavier. LOL.
Next up on my mind would be a bolt on turbo upgrade. Hmmm decisions decisions.

congrats cr7...
Would like to take this oppurtunity to wish congratulations to Cristiano Ronaldo for winning (again!) the PFA Players' Player of the Year (2008) Award. Not like he reads my blog la. LOL.
He definately has deserved the award this year. He has taken English football to new heights and has helped Manchester United in more ways than one this season. A true asset for any team.
So far he has scored 38 goals this season which is an amazing feet for a winger. He is the top scorer (with 28 goals) in the EPL beating the likes of Adebayor, Berbatov, Torres and Santa Cruz. Wonderful achievement for a midfielder in my opinion. He isn't perfect but he is getting there. Occasional burst of selfishness and stubborness but which footballer isn't at some point or rather. Has grown tremendously since the 2006 World Cup.
Being a constant target of spectator jeering, bad tackles and on the field bullying, he is still able to overcome it and play exceptional football. At times its what actually fuels him. Keep up the great work CR7. A true football legend in the making. :D

it ain't over...
It has been 3 frustrating games in a row. First a draw with Blackburn (1-1), then another stalemate at Nou Camp (0-0) and just yesterday a loss to Chelsea (2-1) at Stamford Bridge. Arrrggh. I can't blame the boys as the games were all played tachtically and at times I think they performed really well apart from the final scoreline.
The loss yesterday was pure bad luck. Fergie am sure was gunning for a draw which was about to materialize till a last minute penalty was given. Sigh. Thats just how football is. The biggest downside from the loss would be the injuries to Vidic and Rooney. Hope they will recover before the big game on Tuesday against Barcelona at Old Trafford. Am sure the Red Devils are going all out to ensure that we are in the finals of the UEFA Champions League. Then we can have a proper match with Chelsea! :D

damn thunderstorms!
Arrgghh. Freaking thunderstorms. Last few weeks it has been raining cats and dogs and following that massive thunderstorms.
Constant rumbling and strikes all over town. Sadly am suffering from the aftermath of lightning strikes. First my Netgear router got hit. The very next day my Aztech ADSL modem got hit and that in turn screwed my brand new motherboards built in network port. Arrgggh. Can you believe that?!
Just had to plonk down some moolah on a brand new Linksys Wireless ADSL Modem Router. Now gotta install a new NIC since my built in port is dead. Sigh. Hope nothing else will get fried. :(

new discs...
Like most Perodua MyVi owners, I too suffer from the dreaded warped brake discs issue. Knowing from other owners that claiming warranty doesn't make a difference, I just lived with it while sourcing for an aftermarket alternative.
Almost had the oppurtunity to get a pair of Brembo Max discs unfortunately the group buy didn't fall through. Fortunately I managed to source some slotted brake discs (RM420) for MyVis sold at D'Pro Auto Shoppe. Its not branded but similar in construction to AXT and Brembo.
Haven't really tested em' out as I'm running the disc and pads in first but at least no more juddering from warped discs! :D

god of war on psp...
Its not often I finish video games. I think in the last 20 odd years of playing them I've only managed to finish about 20 odd games. Yup only 20 but I've played hundreds, maybe thousands even. I'm the sorta player who plays for the thrill of it. To enjoy the graphics, sound, gameplay and marvel at the technology advancement.
Think the last game I finished was Call of Duty 4 on my Nintendo DS. It wasn't really that long a game, a couple sessions in the throne and I was done. Hehe. However just moments ago I managed to finish a game that kept me glued to my PSP. This game alone is worth the price of a Sony PSP! This is none other than God of War : Chains of Olympus.
Video game fanatics should be aware of the God of War series. One of the core games for the Sony Playstation environment. Every one released was remarkable in every sense. From the storyline to gameplay to pure graphics and sound. Damn it was such a rush. I never really played the other versions and wished I had now. Especially when I had my Sony PS2 cos I did have the games. Arrgggh.
Oh well least I managed to play (and finish!) this version. Wished it was longer but I can't really ask for much being a portable take on the game. The developer mentioned they aren't gonna make anymore for the PSP (too time consuming) but I hope they change their minds. :D

new rig...
After 5 years of serving me well I have decided to upgrade my desktop. Been spending the last 2 weeks researching on what to get and on Saturday got everything from Digital Mall. Roughly midday yesterday I manage to get it up and running without any issues. Phew.
Below are the specifications for those that are interested. Some pictures as well. Hehe. ;)
Intel Pentium Dual Core - E2200 - 2.2Ghz
Asus P5KPL w/ Intel G31 Chipset Motherboard
2 x 1GB Kingston DDR2 667 ValueRAM
250GB Western Digital Caviar SATA Hard Drive
Lite-On 20x12x20 SATA DVD RW
Lite-On CDRW - reused from previous rig
Asus EAH3650 Top Graphic Card
Powerlogic Modena Casing
Edifier M2300 2.1 Speakers
Notice the red lining of the casing, I chose that for the Red Devil in me! Now am enjoying S.T.A.L.K.E.R, DiRT and Test Drive Unlimited. Been awhile since I played any PC games as my older rig was too damn slow. Damn missed out on quite a bit. :D

a step closer...
The boys are a step closer towards getting the EPL title this year after the Arsenal game at Old Trafford barely a few hours ago. Gotta admit it was a poor showing by the Red Devils but they pulled through. Gunners controlled the game but fortunately they were firing blanks. Great saves from both Van Der Sar and Lehmann.
The spotlight of the night has to be Hargreaves wonderful free kick. Nicely taken and spot on! Not much to add as I wasn't too happy with how we played but am happy we got the 3 points. Now its down to Chelsea to keep the pressure. ;)

burgers at tony roma's, cineleisure damansara...
Tony Roma's has been in Malaysia for about a year now. Its a popular American chain who are famous for their flame grilled pork ribs. Unfortunately we won't be able to try em' as they decided to go halal when they opened up shop here. You can however get your hands on some beef ribs which I hear is just as yummy!
I have passed this outlet in Cineleisure Damansara tons of times but it never really tickled my fancy. Finally last week while roaming about Ikano, the Curve & Cineleisure looking for lunch, Razman and I decided to give this place a try.
As it was lunch both of us didn't really want anything heavy. So we decided on some burgers. Before we ordered we were served complimentary bread with garlic butter on the side. Real yummy stuff. Sadly didn't manage to take any pics. Sorry la was too damn hungry! ;)
After deliberating I settled for the Shiitake Mushroom Burger (RM22.90). As expected in these sorta places, the portion was huge. Even wondered how the hell I was gonna fit all that in my mouth. LOL. Loved the wonderful aroma of freshly grilled beef patty, melted swiss cheese and mushrooms. The burger came just as I ordered it, medium well. Unfortunately though I wasn't happy with the meal. The burger did taste good but the patty seemed to have some hard bits which kinda put a damper on things. On a plus note though the fries were cooked just right and were sinfully yummy.
Razman was too lazy to decide so he just went with the Roma Burger (RM20.90) which is their take on the classic. Didn't hear any complaints except that he asked for medium rare but got medium well instead. Forgot to ask him if he has the hard bits as well. He did leave a happy camper so maybe not.
Guess at the end of the day, don't think I would come here for burgers. Would rather plonk that kinda money in Chillis or Burger King for that matter. Not sure about other stuff though and don't mind coming back for dinner one day. will definately blog about if I do. :D

on to the semis...
I shouldn't be counting my chickens before they hatch but I think the Red Devils are heading for the UEFA Champions League semi-finals. Woo Hoo!
A stunning & bold header by Ronaldo and a nice tap in by Rooney from a great Park Ji-Sung cross and we are 2 up in the 1st leg. The next leg is in Old Trafford so am sure the boys will be able to hold the fort. Sadly though Vidic received a knock. Hope its nothing serious and he'll be back.
Gotta admit I was curious on why Park was put in but damn was I proven wrong. He was all over the place and worked his socks off especially the nice head in from the far post for Rooney. Also great performances from the back four especially Rio Ferdinand.
Kudos boys and keep this up. Can't wait for the game against Boro. :D
